I think you should approach the language by vocabulary and conversation.

Most native spanish speakers don't even know what a Pluperfect subjunctive is but can use it peprfectly.

Hiciese is more common to use in third person, but I'm sure there are contexts where it's more suited than hiciera

Except you learn and study a language with texts and other written materials. It's not spelling, the foreign learner will remember the spelling. It's the pronunciation. Would be easier if you didn't have so much random sounds too.

English is the easiest language to learn because of hollywood and past british influence.
If it wasn't so international it would be much harder to learn, on par with other indo-european language. You have a lot of bullshit rules when it comes to grammar and you dont even have a plural form for "you".
I've studied other indo-european languages like Spanish, German and Swedish and swedish was the hardest one. German and Spanish are not very different from English.

Finnish on the other hand is in a whole different language group and one of the most difficult languages to learn. We have a lot of grammatical cases which would confuse the fuck out of you. And of course anglos are generally more stupid than the rest of the world so it will be harder for you to learn any language. But the main thing is the internationality of the English language and the cultural influence of the americans.

Depends of what country you're from, but yes for latin speakers it's a lot easier to learn english that for an anglo to learn spanish
