i am not a ZHANG
i am a NGUYEN
do not patronise me, or else
I am not a ZHANG
hi NGUYEN. how are u?
Ah my fellow countrymen, Kevin Nguyen :)
I never met a viet that wasn't named Nguyen.
How do you know you're not fucking your cousin and who's part of your family ?
It's like Mohammed, they give their cousins nicknames
thankfully I wasn't given a cringe Muslim name
Not bad, my state got re-locked down because the gov was being a bunch of nunces. Eh, it's not like I go outside.
What about yourself, american-user?
Not quite, the lineages here are kept pretty well. My clan's heritage goes 30 generations back. Next to where my grandpa lives there is a big temple that notes down everyone in the branch family for like, 9 generations.
Hello, Le Van Tuan, how is life in nam?
Not as good as yours, Kevin.
>Why yes, my name is Francis Nguyen, bonjour :)
阮
How many of Vietnamese know this is Nguyen?
(We'll call the letter "Gen" btw.)
Je ne parle que le français
no idea, viet has done away with the chinese letters.
what does that kanji mean?
funny looking c.
does anyone in vietnam even speak french anymore?
Idk. The sign is not normally used here.
Maybe some Zhang knows it.
Not many beside people who are studying it. We mostly speak English (badly) and Chinese here, there are also a majority of people who can speak Russian in coastal city like Nha Trang or Vũng Tàu
Very few, almost nonexistent.
All the kids nowadays study Korean or Japanese, I’m probably the only crazy one to study french lol.
it literally just means nguyen and nothing else lmao.
do japs have ultra common last names?
>Nha Trang
I have a cousin there, he speak Russian very good. I love the beach.
I know a Francois Nguyen
Nice :)
Does he speak English or Vietnamese?
Lol. So the letter is only for indicating Nguyen guys.
>do japs have ultra common last names?
Sato and Suzuki are the top 2 among us!
Konbanwa, Suzuki-san!
The kids here love your country.
nha trang is just a russian tourist city afaik
chào buổi tối, Nguyen -san.
I love your country too!
suzuki, like the car brand?
hahahaha thats gold
there used to be heaps of japanese tourist in australia, wonder where they all went...
I’m from Hanoi. I like Nha Trang. It’s a small city but I love the beach. I haven’t visit my relatives there for 5 years, I miss them, they are good people.
Thanks :)
I visited Japan once, beautiful country.
is hanoi polluted and/or dirty conpared to other cities in the country?
>kim accounts for 21 percent of korean last names
>nguyen accounts for more than 40 percent of vietnamese last names
Yes. This city sucks. It’s hot and humid right now.
The only good thing here is the food. I wouldn’t really recommend visiting this city.
one in five koreans are kims
Yes but recently with the influx of Chinese tourists it's beginning to transform to accommodate them. Also about the Russian beside tourists there are also ex-Soviet oil technician and researchers who live here.
what about Lee?
I liked Hanoi much better then tp. HCM but Hue was my favourite.
where in vietnam would you reccomend to a tourist then? im more of a city person than a nature one
Hello Vietnam #1 fan :)
Would you recommend South Africa a place to visit?
Cities? Hanoi and Saigon aka Ho Chi Minh city are the 2 big ones. There’s Da Nang and Hoi An.
i heard that cape town is pretty good, not sure about the crime though
Xinchào my friend :)
I would unironically recommend your country over my own, because Corona is growing a lot now and we have problems. But if there is something specific here that interests you then I recommend it.
Not shocking. My state still had a pretty minuscule number of cases per day (at least compared to how it was a month ago) so it’s pretty good
