How transhumanist is China, Japan and Korea? Most european seem especially hidebound to its potential, while American seem more open to it, but it surprises me that we nearly never hear from transhumanist thinkers and groups in East Asia despite them being at the forefront in those technological fields.

Interesting. Maybe they don't have the dualistic concept of body/mind as two separate things. Like they have all these spiritual martial arts. That's important because transhumanism heavily implies that mind is the true self and unrelated to body.

China is already doing it. Pretty sure they won't hesitate to fully use crisp-r at max power to create genetically enhanced people, as they don't give a fuck about morals or ethics or whatever.
Korea too, with their obsession of body modification and closest-to-standard looks.

There are two schools of thought within transhumanism: The Pattern Identity Theory and the Continuity Identity Theory. The PIT maintains a more dualistic position of the mind, that a copy of one`s mind is one`s mind while the CIT says that the mind is a process and continuity of the mind has to be maintained to preserve oneself. Thus the CIT only accept gradual methods of mind uploading like the Moravec Mind Transfer.

tranny numbers say otherwise, or do you think transhumanism is just cyborgs and shit?

Europeans are in general even more critical with genetic engineering than they are with cybernetics.

Yeah. Europeans have more actual trans humanist experiments than Americans do. We are very wary of that shit meanwhile there are legal trans humanist laboratories in Britain where anyone can get a transplant.
