I've applied to at least 80 jobs in the last two months and I haven't gotten a single interview for a job that I like. Does this happen in your country?
I've applied to at least 80 jobs in the last two months and I haven't gotten a single interview for a job that I like...
I applied to over 150+ jobs when searching for an internship and only got 3 interviews. One of them became an internship. You aint applied to DICK yet user. Keep pushing bro
Dunno last time I applied for two jobs, was interviewed by both and hired by one.
I think you can just walk into the African jobs where pay is shit and you're likely to die.
It is impossible to find a job without first doing an intership? Asking for myself. I hate to bring it up because it feels petty, but two of my buddies got great jobs and the only thing they have over me is this internship they did at a national lab last year. :'-( Maybe I should lower my standards.
>Does this happen in your country?
honestly no
added "searching for a job" on Linkedin after graduation
16 companies contacted me after 3 days for interviews
went to 7 interviews in total and got 6 job offers
had a job literally one week and all I had to do was update my linkedin
You must have some great connections.
nothing special in my connections really
just an in-demand uni degree
I'm at ~100 applications and have had 4 interviews.
They wouldn't call it work if you enjoyed it
What would that be?
Electrical engineer?
all of you need to contact your university career center or a job search professional and get your resumes and cover letters reviewed.
the fact that you've gotten 0 bites and casted 100 times without changing the bait is probably speaks to the quality you'd bring to a company.
Wait yeah it’s you. You already posted this thread before lmao
No. Worse, math.
Not I haven't. But I did post in that thread.
I've never been to a job interview.
This is a big meme
The people who work at career centers in universities usually don't know the industry specifics to give good advice when it comes to applying for technical jobs
>Entry Level Position with minimal promotion prospects
-3-5 years of experience in the industry NECESSARY
I'm stuck at my wagecuck job and can't even search for anything better due to this pandemic BS. I've been working at my current job for two years and have yet to receive a raise despite being a top employee in my department and asking multiple times. I'm literally making less now than I did when I started because cost of living commiefornia is constantly rising. I'm going to AN hero soon.
No. That was me (Not OP), but it seems my post has influenced some other people
My original thread was:
>apply for a job so dad would shut up
>actually get the job
fuck
>probably speaks to the quality you'd bring to a company
Okay, retard. HR people don't know anything about the positions they hire for.
You found a interview yet
This is an entry level position in NYC
here in netherlands it would take 4 applications and youll find a job.
No, but my city is starting the next phase of reopening so I am hoping for some more economic activity, I am optimistic as of right now
I applied for 10 jobs and got 2 interviews, both of them wanted to hire me so I went with the one that paid more and had better benefits. I am the STEM masterrace
Crap. I swear my punctuation is usually not this bad. I'm just drunk and sulking.
I've changed it up. I think it's my cover letter. I gloated in my most recent cover letter and got immediate rejections (like within 3 days).
My buddies are doing jack shit at their work. They tell me it's menial Python scripting and SQL querying. I find it hard to believe that I'm too stupid to do that.
#learn2code
Why would he apply to a dick?
Thanks mate but I already know how to code in Python, Racket, Java, C, R, Octave. I took graduate courses in neural networks and image processing, I attended a regionally sponsored boot camp.
Better advice would be to have several projects and put them up on GitHub. But that takes time. I need monies in the meantime. It's not like I'm applying to Google.
With those accolades, you must live in a rural shithole to not be offered a job.
Do you have any experience in IT of have compTIA certs? My retarded friend obtained his A+ and got a job within a weekend.
>tfw I’m both disabled and bisexual
Is the meme really true that this will improve my employment prospects on account of diversity?
No. Midwest.
The thing is, I didn't place any of that shit on my resume because someone told me I should only list my work experience. I'm gonna update my resume with that stuff in it and fish some more.
Ofcourse it happens here, I am an american too now.
2 years neet
Probably true, but do you really want to be disabled and bisexual? It sounds like more trouble than it's worth.
How are you applying to jobs? If you're just submitting applications to random portals, then you're not really going to get that lucky.
Email real-life people the companies and follow up on applications that you submit through a portal. Take advantage of any connections that you might have, no matter how tenuous it might seem (at the very worst you won't get a response). The quicker you're able to get into contact with a real-life person, the easier it becomes.
I graduated from a school in the mid-west most people haven't heard of. I got my first-choice (and highest-paid) job only because I knew someone at the company. Got rejected from about 150 others.
With this economy, I'll probably be a neat for at least a year. Luckily im going back to school for a masters. It was a good run while it lasted, got laid off because of corona.
>graduated from enginering from one of the best unis in country
>have some experience
>applied probably more than 100 in the extend of the last 5-6 months
>1 interview which failed due to corona
no, got the first one I applied to
We appreciate your interest but unfortunately we have decided to move forward with other candidates blah blah blah
I could send my resume to 10 companies and have 10 job offers by the end of the week, why don't you just become a security guard bro?
I have applied to ~50 jobs last month and I have been to one interview, didn't get the job. NEET life for me
Not to me, I got a job
>HR professionals at X can't help me get noticed by the HR professionals at Y who will screen my resume and cover letter
>Common sense is a meme, just let me code and create my models
cope, you autists.
Yeah, pretty much that; LinkedIn, Dice, CareerBuilder, Indeed. No, I've submitted plenty of applications on company sites. That's why I don't have such a big count yet; it takes like 45 mins to fill those out + write a cover letter.
I went to Big 10 school and have some OK connections. I don't like to ask people for favors.
Exactly. Just got a letter like that this afternoon for a job I was so confident I had the qualifications for (probably overqualified tbqh).
It is over
Why would you not include this? Just because some sperg told you not to? This is valuable information for the HR nerds, especially if you have a lot of competition
There are too many people in this fucking country. That's why our job market is so shit.
t. California
what the nearest big city?
