It's funny how gaytheists claim that when science, with every passing hour, corroborates the veracity of Catholic beliefs more and more.
>I don’t believe in the teachings of the church, I believe in my yummy heckin’ science like the big bang theory
>W-what do you mean it was theorized by a Catholic priest?
>B-but Muhammad was a pedophile
>science is indeed a cure
It's even funnier when you consider that the scientific method was invented by the Church.
>NOOOO YOU CAN'T DENY MY HECKIN SCIENCERINO!
This is a cucked mindset but not because of the reason you believe it to be. The belief in a higher god has been argued for thousands of years and there have historically been many, many very good arguments for God. One of the biggest examples being the ontological argument, Most philosophers have rejected the ontological argument, even among those who believe in God, like Thomas Aquinas. Still it's something worth taking seriously, and has found support in many objectively great philosophers, not only in the man who originally developed it, St. Anselm of Canterbury, but men like Descartes and Leibniz. The argument approaches the idea of God as a necessary being, making God's existence a self-evident fact, something can be deduced by considering God's nature alone, just like the nature of geometry can be deduced considering the nature of shapes. Many feel that the argument doesn't hold up, but explaining why it doesn't is generally considered to be a very difficult thing to do, requiring you to wrestle with deep metaphysical and epistemological issues. Any treatment of the issue then, even by someone who disagrees with it, should be taken with some degree of respect. To claim the belief in god is a "disease" is to spit in the face of some of the greatest philosophers including those the agnostic/atheistic philosophers that disputed them. The average person, let alone atheist knows nothing of these arguments or the effort put into disproving them.
poo poo
Bullshut lol. Scientific method is pure philosophy — critical thinking and rhetoric. It wasn't invented by anyone, it's just how the human mind works, and it has had worked this way since before any religion. For example Greeks used it thousands of years before Christianity
>christian*sm is a disease
fixed
The Big Bang is theorised by the Rig Veda, Book 10, Hymn 129. Creation.

Science isn't a cure for you, but turning mecca and medina into brothels would do something
OHNONONONONONO
What’s there to disprove?
>god exists because his existence is necessary
>no it’s not
Disproven
atheist's unironically believe evolution created this creature
I'm no longer a Muslim, I can't reconcile the contradictions in the religion and my differing view points. I've thrown away my faith for agnosticism, but I still don't like it when people insult Islam. Can someone explain?
Bro, are you being serious? I honestly can't tell if you're joking or not. If you are you got me good, if you aren't joking you're unironically the reason I believe every student in America should be required to take comprehensive classes in Philosophy.
>b-b-but Indians discovered it first a-a-and also Europeans didn’t discover America, the Amerindians did a-and tea isn’t English, it’s Indian
No one cares lol, for a discovery to count it must be made by a Eurochad
That’s how I feel about USA. I hate this country but still feel the need to defend it when Euros shit talk it
I’m 100% serious and I have a masters in chemistry, had to take many humanities courses.
Philosophy is literally just thinking about things that don't exist
Ok, the basis of an ontological argument is proving that god is a necessary existence. When you make an ontological argument you don't just claim that gods existence is necessary you attempt to prove it using logic. Most of the times the logic is correct, so to disprove these arguments you usually have to attack the Axioms. That's why saying god isn't necessary isn't disproving the ontological argument, you aren't actually disproving it, you're just making a claim.
You people make me hate this country so fucking much.
>KJV
Discarded
>the basis of an ontological argument proves that God is a necessity
No it doesn't. Go back to first year of college and study Plato better
Then go somewhere that values your useless thought idc
So what proves it’s necessary? Because so far you’ve only made a claim as well
What does an ontological argument attempt to prove then? I want to hear it out of your whore mouth.
>So what proves it’s necessary?
Different ontological arguments make different proofs for the necessity of the existence of god.
>Because so far you’ve only made a claim as well
Because I'm not attempting to prove god. I don't believe in the existence of a god. I'm only saying to call the belief in god a disease when some strong arguments have been made by some of the most intelligent people alive is retarded.
Probably because you have a better understanding of Islam and how people who live under it reason, and it's annoying to see ignorant statements about things you are familiar with, even if you don't necessarily like said things.
cringe yikes
K this whole conversation is pointless then because I agree. But just saying gods existence is necessary without anything else is retarded too and a bad way to organize a thought
Ya, maybe I organized my post idiotically.
>saying to call the belief in god a disease when some strong arguments have been made by some of the most intelligent people alive is retarded.
Not really, a retarded belief is retarded no matter how "smart" a believer is. Plenty of otherwise bright people went into crazy cults or started believing in objectively dumb things like communism.
A Retarded belief isn't retarded if strong arguments have been made in favor of it. Now that's not to say most believers aren't retarded because lets be real here they are. They don't know much about the strong arguments made for god. also
>objectively dumb
>communism
Wtf did he mean by this?
>what in the heckin flying spaghetti monster do you mean that you don't believe in evolution?
