Little, my Amharic is shit, my parents never taught me and it's hard to find online sources to learn

Not that much, there are few words that are the same and they are both semitic languages but a Hebrew speaker can't really understand Amharic speaker and vice versa.

There was persecution, even the word for Jews in Ethiopia is Felasha, which means the excluded ones. It wasn't like in Europe but there was persecution.
