>Haiti and jamaica almost joined canada
Haiti and jamaica almost joined canada
you guys dodged a bullet
Haiti and jamaica dodged a bullet
The logic in support is typically that Canadians spend a retarded amount of money vacationing in foreign tropical countries every year, billions, so having a tropical province ourselves would be extremely valuable.
Haiti or Jamaica though, yikes. The only one that would work economically is Turks and Caicos.
They make up nearly half of our blacks though
Jamica for Ontario
Haiti for Quebec

Weren't there some talks of Bermuda joining at some point? And I know about T&C.
Yeah, several of the current/former British Caribbean holdings have talked about it. We want a tropical vacation site and they want the federal benefits. The biggest problem is I believe economically the gained value of retaining vacationers only outweighs the costs of provincial status and social programs for the new population if T&C join. The rest will all cost more than they're worth, can't imagine how fucking disastrous Haiti would have been.
Not sure how it would all go down, like if it would be a unilateral government decision or if we'd have a vote on it. T&C joining would probably win a landslide in a vote here, Bermuda or Jamaica not so much.
Based ford
The first time I ever voted was in 2010 when I voted Rob for mayor.
>T&C joining would probably win a landslide in a vote here, Bermuda or Jamaica not so much.
Would understand it with Jamaica but Bermuda has it hard? And I think there were also some talks between the Bahamas and T&C about merging the countries, no? Quite interesting for a former map autist like me tbqh.
It's more about public perception. No one gave much of a fuck about the tropical island province idea up until all the T&C stuff. Suddenly a whole lot of Canadians loved the idea
>Suddenly a whole lot of Canadians loved the idea
well yeah, at least in theory it sounds quite nice.
Yeah it's kind of a no brainer if it's a good country like T&C. Easier travel, no stay limits, it's our own country (Saving on traveler health insurance is actually a big one compared to vacationing in a US region), and we stop sending billions of dollars out of the country for our tropical trips.
I can't remember the exact number but in terms of profitability it mainly comes down to there being a hard limit on population of the new province before the cost of mainly healthcare starts to outweigh it. Can't just take in a country of millions like Jamaica.
kys
>Can't just take in a country of millions like Jamaica.
Guess it also goes the other way around, since I doubt the T&Cers want to see thousands of new people moving in and settling down. But ya, if it benefits both sides, it sure sounds like a realistic idea desu.
Why don't sluts bother losing weight anymore before parading around in revealing outfits
imagine all the black qveens
Yeah if the T&C annexation ever does come to be there may well have to be a restriction/limit put on moving there for a while after to ensure we don't have a serious issue.
This true? Thank fuck Haiti needs to get removed from the map
what do you mean joined, like literally become a part of canada like puerto rico and the us?
a second and third quebec, nice.
Haiti, Dominican republic, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Cuba should form a Confederation of Caribbean states
Argentina almost became a Inca monarchy.
Nah, Puerto Rico should annex them all and become the 51st state.
Yes
you would get more blacked than america real quick
Statistically impossible given their populations vs US black population. Plus the cost of them as provinces would be too high so it would have been political suicide regardless for any Prime Minister to even suggest it. Canadians will only accept Bermuda or Turks and Caicos out of all the ones that showed interest.
