What's the learning curve for Chinese like? Does it get harder the more you learn?

Dunno, I've been speaking it my whole life. One guy learned the basics in 2 days doing 12 hour sessions of repetition.

Is it worth learning?

50 cent party the general

Wtf why am I just finding out about this now?

Christ, I used to support the protestors but not anymore. I hope the Chinese army goes full 4.6.89 on them for that

An entire general devoted to making two quarters per post? Xi must be having a budget surplus he's not telling the rest of us about

How is China democratic?

This. What these individuals did who don't represent anyones view at all makes me not want to live in a democracy anymore.

Because the american media forces all of the country’s corruption down the public’s throat 24/7. The Chinese media does the opposite.

Villages, cities and towns can vote out who runs their village etc.

Probably sarcasm but if you’re serious, look at this truth-hk.com/violences/categories/violence

No they don’t.

t. On Chinese social media every day

Wow i wish i could do that in my country, america should really learn from china
thanks for link. I don't support democracy anymore

They get to vote for the people who approve party legislation 100% of the time.

Wow i hate democracy. China should take away democracy from Hong Kong
Wow i love democracy. We should become democracy like China

What the Chinese media openly criticises the CCP does it? Doesn’t seem that way from the state controlled sites that produce english content.
Contrast that with American media which only ever talks about how terrible the government is depending on which party is currently in power

Cool thread but it will get a lot of hate from indian diaspora and Americans.

A toast to the People's Republic of China and the Communist Party of China!

>The fake images that are circulating online might give people the wrong idea. Sometimes the level of cruelty shown in these false videos far exceeds what is actually going on.

Democracy is defined as a government that serves the interest of the people rather than corporations, monarchs, the military, or foreign powers.

China:
>Largest companies are state owned which means generous pensions and favorable working conditions at the behest of maximizing profits.
>The military is fully under the control of the central government and is used primarily for defense.

USA:
>Private companies mostly focus on maximizing profits for shareholders resulting in poor worker protection.
>Military is partially under the control of the CIA whose agenda is overwhelming unpopular.

Both:
>A small group of ultra wealthy elites have large influence over government.

>Democracy is defined as a government that serves the interest of the people rather than corporations, monarchs, the military, or foreign powers.
And absolute lie or you're retarded. Man it feels good to have a higher intelligence than you
>Largest companies are state owned which means generous pensions and favorable working conditions at the behest of maximizing profits.
Companies being state owned is the only reason China gets away with paying jack shit. It is also the only reason every country in the world outsources their jobs to China, specifically because there isn't a single other country in the entire world where you can get away with worse working conditions and low wages.
>The military is fully under the control of the central government
The chinese government doesn't have an army. There is no "Chinese army". The communist party have their own private army meant to pursue the interest of the party and maintain the partys power, not the interest of the government

holding people at gunpoint doesn't count

Any hot take on this?

Because these people lied China isn't mass prosecuting Uighurs in Xinjang and keeping them in concentration camps

Wow, the mass protests that has been going on for months was probably about America

How could the state department say this? China is pro Taiwan independence and are pro democracy in Hong Kong
