it was 5 years ago
Is driver's license exam hard in your country?
You gotta pay a bribe to pass
I failed the test because I made a wrong turn, but they let me take it again the next day
lmao do shitskins really?
here you only have to pay a bribe if you're not good enough
not really, I had to do 50 hours of driving with my parents, and then the test was a 10 minute trip around the town + parallel parking
It's not, even gypsies get it.
I still haven't got mine because I don't need it atm
No one actually did the 50 hours in my town
every time i failed i had to pay 150 PLN for next attempt and wait like 2 weeks
it was driving me insane because i knew i'll probably be waiting 2 weeks only to fail again after 5 minutes
my first attempt was on July 2nd and i finally passed on July 29th
Ive seen italians drive. Obviously, everyone paid the bribe.
my dad was too law abiding
thankfully none of his children are lmao
> lmao do shitskins really?
>tf
>tp
sorry, are these
If you can drive then they can't fail you, retard
Of course you pay the bribe only if you can't drive for shit
Failed my written once but passed the next time. My actual driving test I passed the first time despite only going behind the wheel 10 times in total before taking the test
It very much depends in which state you live. I got mine during the fourth attempt
i flunked twice due to anxiety :(
then i passed :)
Not hard if you have a spare 1000 bucks (and often less). This is one of those few areas where petty corruption is still absolutely rampant, even in Moscow. I'd guesstimate the number of licences that were actually "bought" at tens of percents.
If you don't wanna pay, it's pretty difficult. People normally go through several attempts, sometimes 4 or 5. In Moscow that is, it's supposed to be a lot easier in the provinces.
Same here
Easy if you are not a brainlet, first try 0 mistakes in the test
I failed the first time. Kinda funny how much I fucked up, now that I think about it.
I was very nervous...
how do you even bribe anyway?
in Poland the car has cameras everywhere, inside and outside and it records everything
same in trinidad
chances are nobody even bothers to look at the recordings
else you can bribe before entering
nobody even gives a shit in trinidad
You give bribe through driving school's instructor (who takes his cut obvioulsy).
It was pretty hard... Had to try 3 times. They made it even harder recently. Poor zoomers
wait your dlicense is renewed every 15 years?
I would say it's hard here. I got it 4 days ago on my 4th attempt; most people fail at the 1st attempt. And the whole process of theory classes+ practical classes + exams costs you a lot of money, hundreds of euros. If you fail an exam, you also have to wait for many weeks usually to try it again.
but even if you bribe succesfully somehow, the cameras are still running, if you're shit at driving you will probably make some dumb mistakes and the guy just can't let you pass
we have theory and practical tests here, you need to pass theory which is easy but they had this retarded “hazard perception” test where you have to watch a “dashcam” video (it was recorded in the early 2000s) and click the mouse button whenever you see a “hazard” but it was really confusing as to what they considered a hazard and i clicked for loads of stuff like roundabouts and cliff edges and narrow roads and got disqualified for every one of them. still passed because i did well on the signs and stuff.
but the practical tests are when you have to drive the instructor around and follow the signs they tell you to. they also made you do things like a turn in the road (3 point turn), emergency stop and maybe parallel park.
i failed my practical 4 times because my test centre was the hardest in the country and i did things like touching the curb in the 3 point turn and i didnt stop at a stop sign and things like that.
when i did pass i got a perfect score with no minors despite having to make an evasive manoeuvre after a lorry came out in front of me on a main road from a cafe car park and another lorry attempting to overtake me at the same time. closest ive ever been to getting squashed in all the time ive ever driven
every 15 years you need to get new one, i mean only the document, you have to get new one with new, more recent photo and get checked by a doctor
you don't need to pass the exam again obviously
Yeah that's nothing. You have to have for at least 20 hours of driving lessons (40-50€ an hour), in reality it takes around 35 hours for most people. The driving school decides when you are ready to take the exam, there's a wait list, usually you have to wait at least a month (more in the summer). If you fail, the driving school refuses to register you for the exam unless you take extra driving lessons with them, then you have to go through the waiting list again.
And you have to pay for the theory exam also.
All in all, getting your driver's license costs around 1000-1500€ depending on your area and ability to drive. Driving schools are a legal mafia.
same but three times instead of two
kept stalling because my foot was fucking shaking full force on the clutch pedal
Yes, it's pretty difficult. Bribing the theoretic exam is the hardest and most expensive because it's fully automated multiple choice test with cameras in the classrooms. I'm not sure how this is done, I guess someone secretly tells you the answers or something.
And during the practical part there are also several cameras recording the exam. But the examinator still has his own set of pedals with which he can help you (and I don't think his feet are recorded). Plus they know the camera's blindspots where they can put their hands and help you with hand signals. They have this whole system worked out, it's pretty impressive, actually. The traffic patrol police is famous for being the single most corrupt agency in the country.
I passed on my first try 11 years ago. Barely. And I haven't used my license much since.
I recall the passing rate was about 35% back then, and it was seen as very harsh. That said, there were big differences depending on the city the exam took place. It was common for people that failed a few times in the town I took my exam in to try again in another town ~80km away.
Yo anybody else here have a liscense but doesn't drive?
Im pretty nervous about heading on the road any advice?
when i passed my exam in 2015 and got the license my dad bought me some cheap used car and i'm driving ever since, but not much
i've never been on a highway and i've never been in other big city on my own
i'm pretty much only driving around my town
Just drive. Once you know the traffic and Roads from your neighbourhood, it isn't scary at all. You always know what's coming. Travelling to new areas is always a little scary, especially inside cities. Just drive a little slower and take your time
Driving in the highway is chill as fuck
I think I'll just get used to riding around in my own area. It'll be a while though before I start, I can't afford insurance and gas etc.
I'm lowkey excited for highway rides
and also, the fact that i only drive around my town made me know how to drive everywhere without looking at the signs
so i have no habit of looking at signs, this is problematic in other cities because i always forget to check who has priority
Despite what ignorant Americans will tell you - our driving license acquisition is pure communism.
You get to take >free school classes, obviously subsidized by tax money, so eventually a child that is only 15 years old can start driving with a parent in the car. Then by 16, thanks to heavily subsidized system, you can take a driver's exam that costs under $30. If you pass it you're on the road free to drive any car you want.
Not particularly, passed my prac on my second go.
Need plenty of hours as a learner first though, plus the HPT, plus 2 years as a P-plater.
Despite all that Australians still have a reputation tho
Are you trying to make us believe that the automotive industry pushed for "communist"/"socialist" policies that would allow them to make more profit?! Unbelievable!
