Good point on learning about marketing. I've thought about giving away add-free versions of the app via business cards with QR codes to high school kids in different cities after release. It's just that I don't have a big network on social media that could spread the app quickly, but I'll just find another way to promote it (guess I could even pay some semi known influencers). I think waiting on releasing it until it's complete is the way I'll do it, that should mitigate the risks of someone copying and improving it.
