I'm from Northern Michigan. It's a beautiful place. The only thing I don't like is the winters. All that fucking lake effect snow piling up and having to take care of it.

Once had a midwestie come visit me in sunny commiefornia and he said he had never seen the ocean before. Don't know if that was true but we went to the beach around sunset and he just stared out to sea for at least 40 minutes. I didn't want to interrupt him. I don't think I'll ever be able to understand how he felt.

I remember in high school I went there for a school trip I got in trouble for repeatedly calling the city "Chicongo".
The midwest is a great place to live but is extremely boring in terms of natural landscapes. When I went to Utah, I was amazed at the mountains and couldn't take my eyes off them.

They're all in Dearborn and don't make it very far out of there. Where I'm from there's almost none at all.

I was born here (Indiana), looking into moving to North Dakota or Montana though. All three are less fucked up and whiter compared to a lot of other states.

It is. Not too expensive (at least compared to coasties, I pay $1100/mo for 2 bedroom which is pricy but not coastie-tier) and in non-corona times have lots of fun stuff in walking distance plus easy access to world class city (and not a shit tier coastie one)
