I think most people are secretly proud that our weapons are still top notch and most of our army gear is made in Germany. Of course they will say that weapons are bad and all that. Anyone I've ever talked to about Hong Kong either has no opinion or is otherwise preoccupied with the current mess here in the states. I personally feel like it's a crisis of faith in western values and the current appeasement policy with china will end just like it did for the entente prior to ww2. These conflicts can't be avoided, only postponed to the enemies advantage.
