My state at least is, and it's one of the most important in the Union even today. It might not be flashy like New York or Texas, but it hosts most of the countries web servers and almost every government worker and contractor. We're pretty much the heart of the country to be honest even if the rest of the country has forgotten about us. We have all the power players and we're the main strategic target in a nuclear attack. And we're almost completely Anglo.

From a historical and cultural outlook it's interesting seeing English influence in the US (especially on the East Coast) but the whole Anglosphere larp is basically dead. The US has an English diaspora of 6%, Canada 3%, Australia 36%, and 26% in New Zealand with all of them on declining. The past isn't the present, and people gotta get over it a little bit as much as it pains me to say. The cultural differences nowadays between the afore listed countries is too great and cannot be equated to each other

The Anglosphere as a trade group and political group is still a real thing and if the separated countries want to remain relevant, a more formal union might be a good idea.
