I’m gonna be living in Normandie for a while. I have familly and ancestry is these areas. Is there anything cool or anything really worth seeing in these parts ? I have never been to France so I’m not sure what to expect
I’m gonna be living in Normandie for a while. I have familly and ancestry is these areas...
Fuck off we're full. Go back.
Fuck off we're full. Go back.
Nah I’m still going just not where your kind lives but there’s certainly a lot in some areas
You should visit the Normandy beaches, especially Omaha. I went there and they had a WWII museum nearby. It was an eerie experience, but worth it.
Fuck off we're full. Go back.
fuck me and full me, go behind
>a leaf
You have to go back. Nothing to see here. GTFO.
Sounds cool I will be staying in Rouen and Havre
Just grab a tourist guide or there should be some websites.
They say there's enough of France for a lifetime of vacations, so a few months should be no problem except "what to pick".
Try Loire castles, Mont-Saint-Michel or Dordogne valley for a start, in the area you highlighted.
I have familly there I’m still going lol
I’m gonna stay for like maybe two months ? Mont-Saint Michel looks cool but I hope there’s isn’t too many people. Is Paris really worth seeing ? I feel like I’d only go for a day there just to see it
>Sounds cool I will be staying in Rouen and Havre
That's on the other part of Normandie unfortunately, D-Day beaches are Caen to Cherbourg.
Le Havre has its own merit since it looks like North Korean architecture, it's an experience.
Rouen is a charming medieval town at the center, you can't miss the nice parts since it's so incredibly tiny. "Gros Horloge" attracts the most attention.
Fuck heritage fag retard. Go back to your shithole
>Is Paris really worth seeing ?
errr, yeah, obviously? most visited city in the world for centuries.
>I feel like I’d only go for a day there just to see it
You need more than a day for the Louvre museum alone. Paris and its outskirts can probably provide enough tourism materials for several years.
Don't come in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. it's shit, people are not welcoming. Stay in the 3 northern regions.
>since it looks like North Korean architecture
Really ? What do you mean ? Rouen seems really nice I’ll be staying there mostly but I’d like to go through all of west coast if I can
Are you from Quebec? Pretty sure the accents in that area are somewhat similar to Canadian French.
you must have an ear infection
they're really not lmao
I literally said I had familly there imbecile surely you should visit yours in Algeria no ?
You are right I guess I should look more into it. I’d like to visit Napolean’s tomb
What so bad about it ? I know someone from there...
I mean this
No, but I know what you mean. Some of the more rural people have a similar cadence I’ve noticed. I was watching a documentary and they were interviewing very old people and I couldn’t believe how similar some of them sounded like to the weird ways people speak here
I’ve looked at some pics seems ugly but I will be staying there anyways. I’m sure there’s some cool places to see there
>Pretty sure the accents in that area are somewhat similar to Canadian French.
Québecois sounding like Normand? not at all.
You are right that many Normands moved to Canada though.
But anyway, Le Havre is a special case in Normandie, it was founded at a relatively late date (1517 IIRC) and the population came mostly from other parts, including many Bretons who were sailors, much needed in a new port town.
There is a Breton part in fact (quartier Saint François), with the appropriate creperies and amounts of cider.
Its activity was atypical of France too, for a long time (whaling, intercontinental trade and so on).
There is a museum about this, actually, which my dad pushed for when he was in charge of running the town hall long ago (pic is a whaling boat I believe, from that museum).
>I’m sure there’s some cool places to see there
Musée André Malraux, Abbaye de Graville, Musée maritime et portuaire.
If you're a Shakespeare fan, Harfleur (of Henry V fame) is right next to Le Havre, and you can see remains of the "once more unto the breach" wall.
And there are decent sand beaches if everything else fails. When it doesn't rain.
If you're a port fag, it's one of the largest seaport in Europe (or the world), give it a shot you may get hooked, some people do and become ship otakus.
No not all of them I meant like beauf types. I watched this documentary on TV5 and I couldn’t believe how similar this group of people sounded to some of my familly. I am not Québécois but I am close to them. I am Acadian but close to Gaspésie which is a region of Québec. Our accent is a bit different but anyways that places sounds really interesting so I’ll definitely check it out then. Are you from Le Havre ?
>Musée André Malraux
Sounds cool huge fan of his books
>If you're a port fag, it's one of the largest seaport in Europe (or the world), give it a shot you may get hooked, some people do and become ship otakus.
Read my mind. Thanks for the recommendation really sounds like something right up my alley then. Definitely excited to check that out because I am an ocean fag. I’d like to sail if I could there but I’d imagine renting to a foreigner would be too complicated
>I am Acadian
Ah yes, we know about Acadiens too of course, both those of Canada and the US.
>Are you from Le Havre ?
I was born nearby (Sainte-Adresse) and lived there for years as a kid. But I moved to Paris years ago for uni and then found a job there so now I only go to Le Havre once a year to see some family.
>Sounds cool huge fan of his books
It is a museum of fine arts though, named after him because he was Minister of Culture in France at the time the museum was built.
If you're a book guy, maybe check the Villa Maritime (pic) where Armand Salacrou used to live. It's not far from the museum, on the seafront. It has artificial grottos underneath.
> I’d like to sail if I could there but I’d imagine renting to a foreigner would be too complicated
perhaps not? there's a marina, régates races, a fishing market and everything. Le Havre was built especially to be a port. It's Paris' harbor, in a way.
>we know about Acadiens
Really ? Cute I had no idea. I feel like we are unknown at times. I have met tourist from France outside of where I’m from and speak with them but they all think I am Belgian tourist lol...so how do you feel about Paris ? Is there more quiet parts ? Seems like an overwhelming place
