Mass shootings are only a part of the problem. It's the day-to-day bullshit that causes bathroom fights to escalate into reportable criminal events. It also prevents theft and drug use, as teachers, principals, and cops do not need a reason to look into the backpack as they can observe it's contents from outside and search it if banned containers (non-approved pencil cases, cups, lunchboxes etc) are found within.
