I just hope they don't put any retarded restrictions in this as they did in CK2, where you couldn't play three fourths of the game unless you owned all DLC's.
Also, i want them to extend the map to the rest of Africa and to East and Southeast Asia

Not sure. The Dev diaries don't really seem to be all that interesting. Seems like they just put some new graphics and mixed a couple of mechanics.

I'm mostly interested in CK3 because allegedly it's going to have really good mod support, much better than any other paradox game.I hope it won't be a broken release it'll make or break the game.

You can play as anyone just with the base game and they hinted that they'll expand the map to Japan.

I really like the new religion mechanics but yeah some stuff sounds lazy like no naval warfare.

IIRC they've said they're doing all cultures playable at launch. It's only a question of which religions let alone political systems will be anything more than a reskin. But they made a big deal about transgender African tribal religions (which is surely accurate and not just politically correct revisionism), so if they don't carry over the central differences from CK2's non-meme religions, it'll be a disgrace.

What DLCs will probably end up doing is adding new systems that didn't have that much fleshing out in CK2. Probably things like economy, technology, population. Or maybe even a true map expansion into China. I don't see how much more they can get out of Africa without making CK3 into EU5.

The only bad thing is that at some point (after DLC replaced disc-based expansions) the Paradox model for DLCs stopped being overhauls of the game, and just more systems thrown in on top of the basic systems which never really get overhauled for years at a time. Some games are worse than others on this.
Worst case scenario for CK3 is the game doesn't get better than it was at launch, it ends up only getting tons of DLCs that add mere gimmicks to certain cultures.
