Even if he manages to do that, the woman will try to convince him to go back to the US and bring her with him, it's very rare to see a brazilian woman wanting to stay in Brazil when her foreign husband/boyfriend is from a first world country.

If she wants to stay on Brazil then congrats, there's huge chances that she isn't a gold digger and probably a really decent person. But be aware that if you are moving to Brazil you better gave up on all the good things about America like good and cheap cars, cheap electronics, cheap fast food... Everything is expensive here. Your personal safety is also a BIG problem, if you think that America is a violent country then you don't know nothing Brazil, your Brazilian wife/girlfriend will teach you how you supposed to behave in this country, mostly about how not to be robbed. I live in a very safe state and even here we are advised to not walk and waving around with smartphones in the open.

Seriously man, just don't come here, you have nothing to gain and a lot to lose including your life... I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just being realistic, if people know that you are a foreigner they will see you as an easy target.

Not sure about Portugal, you should ask this question with a Portuguese guy. I believe that Portugal is way better in terms of safety.

Thanks for looking out man. Yeah i’m aware of all the dangers of Brazil. The girl i’m talking to is from Paraná. She actually desire Portugal for the reasons you’ve described. She has no desire to come to the US however, but ultimately, she’s letting me be the deciding factor of where we live if we were to get married.
