Btw, NYC isn’t high tax. Because of the cities large size and prime real estate, the property tax in NYC is relatively low (like 0.20%, in NY state average is like 1.4%, there’s one suburb in that State where it’s like 4-5% percent). There’s also an income tax I believe, but it only goes up to 4%. I’m not saying raising taxes is a good idea.

This has always been true and always will be, the answer is to make sure you can apply enough force or deterrence yourself to convince them not to, or destroy them if they try.
