Got a visa at the embassy, booked a flight and went. (This was 2 years ago, before corona. While I understand that the govt would lose massive credibility with their base if they'd normalize relations with Israel, I wish the US and Iran could at least normalize some more. It's honestly a great country, decent people. And while they are a theocracy that does some shady shit, they at least have protected minorities, allows for religious buildings/services for those minorities. I can't say that for our "ally" Saudi-Arabia, exporter of wahhabism, where they still crucify people and then also behead the corpse afterwards. Fun.
