What do you think of socdem anons? It's quite a vague ideology given how today it essentially means a democratic system based on a capitalist economy with some elements that make it mixed, such as welfare programs and etc. Within this framework you can get something closer to democratic socialism or conversely something more centrist. There's a lot of room to move around.
I think something closer to centrism (only economically speaking; on the other political axes it could be defined as more liberal and internationalist) would be a pretty good system, given socialism has gone horribly pretty much every time it was attempted. Whaddya think Zig Forums?
And by the way when I say social democracy I actually mean something that fits these parameters. Nowadays, for example in Brazil which is where I'm from our main "social democratic" party, PSDB, is actually just a rightwing party which has nothing to do with the ideology and just tarnishes it's image. I'm talking about something that is loyal to the aforementioned characteristics of social democracy.
i think they are great and in theory probably the only political hope for the world, but they've been dying the past decade. also most of them aren't really social democrats anymore. I think if they stayed as old fashioned socdems, and thought of themselves as very slow-motion communists, rather than liberals who want a strong welfare state and regulation, they would be better off. >given socialism has gone horribly pretty much every time it was attempted and what about all the times capitalism was attempted and it went wrong

Is there a difference between Social Democracts and Liberal Democrats?

I’m sure Zig Forums loves it lol but I think it’s mostly nonsense and is usually espoused by people who are frankly, just wrong when it comes to the issues. SocDem is nothing new either btw.

california is on fire, but they are drastically understaffed with firefighters, because usually they use huge amounts of private prison labor to fight fires. However, all the inmates in the private prison are sick with covid, so there is no one left to fight the fires.
A way to stop revolution formulated by the likes of Bernstein. It always ends up sliding back under any capitalist assault like Britain in the 1980s. The working class needs Marxism Leninism.
Ryan Hernandez
Incorrect. Bailing out corporations, manipulating money supply, and generally manipulating markets since 1929 doesn’t sound so capitalist. Also, we have the most powerful economy in the world if you haven’t noticed.
California is the most subsidized state on the planet. They have rolling blackouts because they tried to manipulate their energy market and import all of their utilities from hundreds of miles away. Do you guys even know what capitalism is?
Alexander Stewart
Pretty cringe, it just amounts to lots of welfare so that we can sustain our shitty lifestyles for a little longe (or not, because social democrats also nearly always advocate for absurd spending). They also tend to be literal fags.
Jaxon Walker
Capitalism is anything short of socialism, it doesn't mean absence of government interventionism

Zig Forums is a tankie board
Bugger off with that limp dick softcore Capitalist bullshit.
>social buzzword for making unequal things equal. Humans are competitive by nature. The very reason why successful people are successful is because they succeed in something, doing something that the society is in need of. Without them the society would not succeed. Unsuccessful people don't make the society more successful, they merely exist to perpetuate its runnings. And lastly, negative contributors should be incentivised in the strongest terms to become at least self-sustaining members of the society, unless they are utterly incapable of doing that, be it either due to mental or physical defects in which case they should be liquidated (I'm just joking, but seriously we can't expect broader society to finance idlers, in each case it should be their family who pay for the accruing costs) >democratic any system that wants to be successful in the long term has to at least be able to enforce its core believes, lest they get changed into a new system every time the majority opinion changes, therefore a democratic system is always gonna get a yikes and cringe from me... no seriously, all it takes is for the majority population to be retarded to have a huge mess. And the majority population is (almost) always retarded. I mean, half the population is already below average intelligence. It should be concerning to any person of intellect to have them have half the say in how the country is run.
Michael Morris
It's snakeoil for the dumb plebs. People fall for it here en masse and all we get are worse healthcare, infrastructure, schools, business environment and a whole lot of shithole immigrants imported as voting cattle.
Social Democrats needed the Soviet Union and communism to exist as "legitimate" alternatives forms of society. Now that they are gone the ruling class doesn't need to pretend to give us slight concessions anymore.
Ayden Brown
So basically it’s whatever you decide it is? How convenient.
Nope. Name one.

Just another excuse for politicians to line their pockets while the population starves.

It’s objectively not. There’s nothing capitalist about a centrally planned and state subsidized economy.
