is this common in your count?
I'm a loser because I have no university degree
i am not a loser; i am a god
I shouldn't be made to take 3 semesters of calculus just so I can do cool experiments and get paid for it.
nobody genuinely cares here
educational background is not important in Japan.
yeah, if you don't have a masters you're a loser unless you go for a trade career and even then you better make good money doing it or you're FUCKED
Over educated, under intelligent
Fuck degrees!
College degrees are over-emphasized in my cunt. Our uni system gives meaningless degrees away anyway, and charges $200k for them.
Cope.
the norm in france is a master degree
everyone's got a master degree these days
I have a stem degree and I'm going to community college to become a farmer.
Common everywhere, and like all things it's bad for the economy.
Someone that isn't employed does not consume. And if it does it's the bare minimum to survive. Meaning no new cars, mortgages, possibly living with parents, no offspring, no deep relationships.
>everyone
Lol
I'm a loser with a uni degree.
>no degree
>community college dropout
>spent early 20s doing nothing
>now make $47/hr
> econometrics degree
> high end finance job
Still a loser
I dropped out of university and when people hear this it's like I'm telling them I'm a murderer and a pedophile. A degree is pretty much expected now although everyone knows 99% of "education" is worthless, cheating is everywhere and people buy exams and degrees all the time. It's a crazy situation.
It's so stupid man.
>make more than most households
>have a dream career
>literally the reason modern society can function
Hurr durr you need a degree why aren't you going to go back to college?
Even my mom tells me to go back to college and I made more than she did in upper corperate management.
Covid made me realise how absolutely useless most jobs are in developped countries.
never had any diploma
I got my uni degree this tuesday (well I didn't but it's because I can't pay it) and I'm 28. It's never too late.
Same, I plan to study computer science abroad to end my suffering
I know man. The worst ones are jobs where you literally nothing but babysit a spreadsheet. I don't get how people do that without roping. But that's what my mom wanted to do but I did the right thing and fucked off to climbing poles and fucking with powerlines.
There is a tendency in Japan to think that college dropouts are better looking than college graduates.
I think some a good amount of people in America will look down on people in their mid 20s and under if they didn’t go to college. I’m 25 and most of the people I know that didn’t go to college are still working low tier shit jobs like McDonalds or work in factories making good money but destroying their bodies. I got a cushy wage slave job with the government, but I still see plenty of friends WITH college degrees that can’t find work.
At least you can afford being an artist
One of my friends urges me to get a degree because "you cant just work your whole life there" (where I'm currently employed).
I got sick of studying after high school and two years of vocational.
No degree interests me other than history and you dont get employed with that.
But on the bright side I own my apartment, no mortgage, save plenty of money because of it, started investing too.
Meanwhile he is on his second year of being unemployed code monkey and lives on gibs.
College is still a social mobility ticket in the US but undoubtedly it’s strength as an economic mobility ticket has been weakened.
fpbp
Or more like the dumbfucks that got into debt over a worthless piece of paper look down on those that weren’t stupid enough to make your mistake.
Anyway, Keep paying those student loans wagecuck!! while people like me continue to steal from your tax dollars without contributing anything to society hahaha
I basically do that but for a whole bunch of spreadsheets. I don’t really care since I’m paid for it and it never really made sense for me to be anything other than a bureaucrat administrator. That’s partly what my parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc. worked so hard for. I’ve just never really cared what I did for a living and all jobs suck to some degree inherently so what difference does it make?
>tfw you realize schools outside Canada don't teach web design and they have to go to post secondary and spend thousands of dollars to learn what you did in grade 11
>American friend went to post secondary to learn Trig
Yes, you should. Calculus is very important.
what's your job?
I know man everyone has the hole made for them.
But then again I can say I love my job to the point I could do it for free.
If you're a brainlet. My school had web design and you could take Calc.
I work with beverages lets put it that way.
5th year here going.
You didn't learn Calc in grade 11?
dring dring
is it the kind of job you went to vocational school for or is it something that doesn't require special qualification?
Yeah that's what I'm thinking.
>9th grade: Alg 2
>10th grade: trig
>11th grade: calc AB
>12th grade: calc BC
Or if you do web design
>9th grade: CCC
>10th grade: web design 1
>11th grade: web design 2
>12th grade: web design 3
>American college students are about as educated as canadian highschoolers
>still make double what people in canada make
It's not fair
