Is it true Americans are abnormal in that they kick out their kids by 18, and generally have weak family bonds?

forgot your proxy?
I'm asking retard. I never claimed not to be American.
yes
any north american i talk to complains about their parents and say that theyre fucking insane, hating your family is probably gonna be part of american culture in a few years
Probably because you're talking to incels on an anime board
They didn't kick me out. I haven't spoke to my parents since I graduated college and don't need their money anymore.
not really you faggot anyone on the internet, but then again i only talk to autists [on discord and steam so you're probably right.
I moved out at 17, have and have a good relationship with my parents. But I mean they should. Forcing you to find your way is best thing to do.
Isn't that only a cultural norm because in the past it was feasible for an 18 year old to become self sufficient? That's not possible elsewhere except maybe the nordic countries.
It still is here. Granted I chose to be homeless for 3 years. Best years of my life.
>Isn't that only a cultural norm because in the past it was feasible for an 18 year old to become self sufficient?
It still is totally possible if you can go to community college while in high school. Or go to trade school while in high school. Or join the military. Or go into an in demand labor field. Also I wouldn't count going to college as living with your parents especially if your university is several hours away from home.
I find it wild that most Americans don't graduate with a 2 year degree. How much of a brainlet do you have to be.
what was it like
I am lucky enough that my state allows you to complete you 2 year degree in high school. Although I choose to go the University route and finish my bachelors it would have been definitely possible for me to be making $60,000 by the time I was 19 if I had played my cards right and entered the workforceout of high school.
it should be a norm. Like a bird and most other animals, we gotta flap our wings and gain self independence.
i really hate how portuguese culture and socioeconomic issues do not promote that.
My mom thought it was absurd to gtfo house after high school because she only gtfo her parents house when he got married near her 40s to move in with her husband.
economy here is so shit that most apartments go for more than 50% of min wage. There almost no conditions to move out unless youre a zoomer with rich parents.
this is the reason why portugal is a country with atrophiated and incompetent people.
you literally live there, ask your friends
It was fun, I traveled all across the United States via freight hopping, visiting friends I made online and living like a general bum. No responsibility and always in danger was a cool way of life. I really miss it since I'm forced to be responsible now.
its possible. Most unis, or government, should offer free housing to uni students.
Socialist and communist shitoles have no excuse
So you are basically stobethehobo? Ever get caught by the yard bull or run into a possible serial killer?
idk i still live with my parents and my parents still live with their parents
yeah
i live together with my parents and grand parents
however we own a massive house older than the united states as a country and with this house we also have a massive land on which we built a few more smaller houses, some are for meat smoking, some are for wine barrels, some are for cars, some are for repairs, some are for tennis and golf guests but some can be used for living no problem
so who cares?
I actually met the guy (rip) in north dakota but yeah it was fun granted I'm nowhere as fucking crazy as stobe was(he literally rode the cab). I've only been caught twice but they where really cool about it and let me go without anything since they didn't want to do paperwork. While I was in louisiana I did about get stabbed by a gentleman but other than that nothing crazy. I usually tried to fuck off into the middle of nowhere.
>hating your family is probably gonna be part of american culture in a few years
>gonna
he's asking if other countries do this too.
yes
money>family in america
Dang. What was Stobe like in person?
I know someone who had to pay their (single) mom rent from the age of 16
We don’t even do this anymore. We send our kids to college at 18 where they proceed to live with all their friends in a bubble at their parents’ expense
How did you pay for food for 3 years?
>parents’ expense
only if you're lucky
I'm gonna be honest it's almost only related to sex sex sex and parties. You get more sex and social status if you have your own place.
He was a really laid back dude in my opinion too much for his own good. I really enjoyed his videos he put out but I only met him for a few hours before I had to catch my train I think to waycross if I remember correctly.
I used to hit up food pantries on the way to where I was going and I had about $15,000 saved up in the bank by the time I was 17. I only spent about $9,000 of that money in that three years. I really hopped from online friend to online friends house during that time and they let me crash for a few weeks and I would go.
damn what a piece of shit lol
