Yeah.

Yeah I used to go to school with a noble who's family controlled Milan between the 11th-14th century

They're not pure blooded nobles though

They still rich?
What do they do?
What is the name of the family

Plenty of nobles still have lots of land and houses scattered throughout the country

to bad you are a mutt

Yes sadly we failed to kill them all in 1792.

my uncle is a count, but he is poor cause is grandpa lost all his money gambling. It's funny becausa many old palaces in the city have his surname

>still
wait
why would nobles disappear? they are by definition the last ones to disappear

they 100% still have offspring, its just that those offspring gambled their money away or stuff like that and so now work regular jobs

tell us more, user

But the current day ones, what do they do?

Their properties are tourist attractions.

some are dentists
some do construction
some still own massive amounts of land and property and dont do anything
some sell watermelons
some are military men: fun fact the army used to be a secret nobility club in a lot of european countries, back when french revolution happened and a lot of nobles got their heads chopped off, some simply decided to give up all their property and just go to the army and be soldiers/officers instead and kept telling their kids to also join the army, making entire noble/military families for 500+ years

live a jetset lifestyle from the billions their houses have made over the centuries

>why would nobles disappear?
Because non-nobles would kill them

babbys first CK2 playthrough

be parasites

Yes of course, many.
In fact one of my friend has an actual noble name, but he’s a huge lefty lol

modern nobility = staff officers (or higher rank) military

>having a weird title: check
>having an assigned cook, doctor, security, driver, mechanic aka "staff" in general: check
>getting to wear a weird outfit: check
>commanding a bunch of non-nobles: check
>having headquarters or special housing: check
>special benefits in society: check

nobility is still here, it has just... evolved

Most of us probably are to some extent
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Droit_du_seigneur

couldn't be further from the truth, at least here

what a stupid thread.

>wot a schewpid thread

I'm nobility. It means nothing. My grandparents got to hang out with the king and queen on a personal basis but that's just clinging on to the past.

I do get free money every now and then but that's from a branch of clergymen.

we killed them all durning gommunism

we killed them all durning gommunism

well i mean being rich today = being actual nobility, but being high military would probably be the closest you would feel to being ancient nobility?

There's is story about French noble family that joined the cult, and lost all of their assets

based gommies

Here there are some families that survived all the hardships of wars and communism but they don't own huge land estates anymore, some of them managed to get their palaces returned though. Also some of them are just celebrities.
