DJT - Daily Japanese Thread #2428

DJT is the best Japanese language learning vtuber shitposting thread on Zig Forums for むっつりスケベ共 that are interested in everything Japanese (no politics )
Japanese speakers learning English are also welcome

The only way to learn 日本語:
1.無理があんのよ
2.Don't waste time/money on ゴミ like:
-All textbooks like Genki, RTK etc.
-All mnemonics like KLCC, Kanji Damage etc.
-All online courses like Wanikani, Duolingo etc.
-All language schools, classrooms etc.
-JLPT, Kanji Kentei tests etc.
-Shitty english youtube channels, you're here to learn Japanese (日本語の森 is good)
-Awful anki decks(only 2k/6k from the OP and a simple yomichan mining deck are good)
-Spending 20 hours on Anki daily (you shouldn't spend more than 1-2 hours as a beginner and 30 minutes max after a few months, spamming easy is fine)
-Pitch accent(doesn't exist, you can say words however you want youtube.com/watch?v=Jb7DRvot9Uc )
-Learning how to write on paper (if you really want to waste time on this do it later once you know the basics)
Avoiding these beginner traps will cut down your learning time considerably to less than 5 years if you learn every day and never give up
3.youtube.com/watch?v=x4JkJpPWIrQ
4.Sleep
5.Spend a few days getting familiar with hiragana and katakana
6.A few months of Anki 6k vocabulary and your favorite grammar guide while reading something easy on the side
7.A few years of reading, listening, watching vtubers, shitposting in /djt/ and having your posts corrected by Jap flags, googling stuff you don't know and you're done!
8.Move to Japan (optional)
9.Realize there's always more to learn and the ride never ends

仲 is etymologically the same word as 中, but written with a different character to reflect a different usage. The original meaning is middle as in middle brother, or 2nd out of a group of 3 or 4, so it has the 人 radical added to reflect that it's a usage that has to do with people. The Middle Chinese readings are 中 "ʈɨuŋ" and 仲 "ɖɨuŋ" (departing tone), which both become ちゅう in Japanese. The difference in initial consonant traces back to a nasalized prefix in Old Chinese 仲 "N-truŋ-s," showing that 仲 was just a kind of conjugation of 中.

Both are read なか in Japanese, but when なか is used in words like 仲人 or 仲間 the Japanese choose to write it with the 人 radical to show that it's a なか that has to do with people. But both are the same word なか.

There are many other character pairs with a similar relationship, like 亡 and 忘, where 亡 means "to disappear" and 忘 is "to disappear from the mind," with the 心 radical added to reflect the nuance, or 至 and 致, where 至 is "to arrive" and 致 is "to send, to cause to arrive," the same word but in the transitive, causative usage, with 攴 (a hand holding a weapon) added to show someone using something on something else.

Did you mean something like "it's no joke", "no way!", ”please stop joking, it's too difficult for me seriously" by this 笑い事じゃないよ(it's no laughing matter)?
If so, I think you would be better off saying:
>洒落にならないよ
>冗談じゃないよ
>冗談はよしてくれ
>勘弁してくれ
and so on instead.

>そうすれば、ネット発の小説を探しているファンはもちろん、その存在をまったく知らなかった人たちにも興味を持ってもらえますよね。
idiot here
what exactly does this mean? It's about webnovels being published as 新文芸 and put into bookstores.
Like i feel like im missing something of the grammar. Is it like "People who are looking for webnovels that were published are already interested, but putting them in a special section / under a new label also awakens interest into people who don't know about them?"

Context

>このジャンルに「新文芸」という名前を与えることで、まずは書店の方々にそういったジャンルがあることを認識し、コーナーを作っていただけるようになればと思っています。そうすれば、ネット発の小説を探しているファンはもちろん、その存在をまったく知らなかった人たちにも興味を持ってもらえますよね。
store.kadokawa.co.jp/shop/pages/special_articles_01.aspx second part

>ネット発の小説を探しているファンはもちろん
with fans who are searching for web-released novels not needing to be discussed/debated about,
>その存在をまったく知らなかった人たちにも興味を持ってもらえます
even those people who do not know anything about their existence at all will also hold interest in them for us

it's like, to say nothing of people who are already fans, even people who don't know about them will be interested

it's an import from /jp/, that's why

ohhhh yeah i just completely blanked on もちろん being used that way. thanks

>移ろいで
Just wondering, since that character always used the て形 with 促音便・撥音便, is it normal to not do so with ワア行 when speaking old fashioned? Can't remember whether or not she did so before
>lolis
But aren't those explicitly halal?

is it actually? everything here makes sense now

It's not

jannies forced it here for a while in 2016. they let it return but some of them never left. you can go to page 40 of the desuarchive in the OP and see for yourself, the first threads on Zig Forums started with #1747, and they still share the name with the thread on /jp/. back in the old days Zig Forumsernationals just went to the actual japanese general thread

Not my thread

She's using うつろぐ instead of うつろう, which is like a colloquial incorrect version of the word from similar words like 寛ぐ
It's not in dictionaries because it's not technically a word but people still use it and apparently it shows up in books about weird words like this person writes a blog entry about:
blog.goo.ne.jp/jchz/e/7b6ffa1b082d7f6af1f52a11d645142a
>動詞の「移ろぐ」は「移ろいで」のかたちで現れるもの。本来の「移ろう」であれば「移ろって」になるはずだが「くつろいで」等の連想で誤用されることがある。動詞の活用は変化する、という解説が面白かった。

There's barely any lolis, unfortunately

Oh I see, many thanks!
And now that I think of it, it would have to be 移ろいて I guess

Why do you continue the legacy of their thread numbers then? The threads have diverged since the original migration, but the jannies moving the /jp/ DJT is how these threads began to exist on Zig Forums.

Here's your containment board

I don't think your flag is legal any more. Better get that checked out.
