Reminder that tourism brings in 25% of Greece's GDP

"tourism" is not an economy and shouldn't ever be. People should replace it into something productive. If your country relies on tourism that means you're a shithole.

We have the same problem in cities which are not that much of a tourist's destination.
And now we have millions of even more migrants who want to settle here and cry "RACISM" if the apartement owner doesn't let them live there.

The good thing about tourists is that they leave after some days. Migrants will stay. This is much, much worse.

our monuments and mountains wont wear down with each tourist, and we don't need to import new statues to keep up, and in 500 years, that sector will still exist and move billions
all you have to do is feed them, give them some temporary housing and keep police around, which you already do for your locals presumably

Italy is a not very big country with 60 million people. There is no “bumfuck” in Italy. Maybe the most isolated alpine town or in central sicily but still that’s only an hour or two from a city
