Does Japan still consume physical media over digital? I know they buy CDs still, but what about books and movies?

They still rent DVD by fax.
Yes.
Interesting
So they buy physical books and don't use a kindle or tablet to read?
They invented ereader long before Kindle stupid mutt faggot.
People don't buy CDs as much as they used to anymore, most people use a subscription service. The only ones still selling are the ones that have an idol's handshake as a bonus
A lot of people still buy the book, not sure about the movie.
That doesn't mean it's common. The US has the highest e-reader usage.
Japan invented shit like used pants vending machine and other weird cyberpunk stuff.
Interesting, I heard subscription wasn't common in Japan but maybe that's changing.
That's great but how common is it?
Does anybody use ereaders anymore? I haven't seen one since like 2013, thought it went the way of the 3D TV
Every second person in Moscow metro.
Not sure. If not, do they use tablets now or have people returned to physical books?
Physical music sales are slowly dropping, still very high though at 75% compared to the US's 10%.
Incredible. Man I love Japan.
Why? Do you have fax machine?
Who said anything about a fax machine?
>A lot of people still buy the book
You guys are really smart.
For those unable to see, the reason many are lauding our Japanese friends for choosing physical books is because A) they are harder to control, B) they are harder to track (no eye movement tracking to see if you actually read it, or pulse monitor to see if you believe it) and C) superior aesthetics
My dad loves records.
Discount Japan thread again.
Fax is very good way to prevent Chinese hacking and spying.
It was before e-mail invented
>Does Japan still consume physical media over digital? I know they buy CDs still, but what about books and movies?
It's good things though.
How's life in 1980?
>It was before e-mail invented
yes, before e-mail invented fax was a super fast communication tool.
While this thread is here: physical books or e-reader? As in, which is better/do you prefer
Probably, it's comfy.
No DRM in each file, no companies installing their spyware and tracking shit to each device in your pocket, your data is YOUR data and nobody can delete them remotely (like Amazon did with 1984 book)
Whoa, Amazon deleted book from Flibusta?
No, from Kindle.
Apple did the same with their software (there were some bugs with indexing audio files, which resulted in "non-authorized" music deleted)
E
But if I like it,I’ll buy physical one too
