One of my best friends from the U.S. is an ethnic Turk who grew up in Krasnodar Krai. Said the regular Russians would bully him and his relatives and call them "blackies," and then they'd all get into fights after school.
His brother made it sound pretty comfy, though, apparently wanted to an hero after moving to America.
