Its not a black pill at all, its just mother nature solving the overpopulation crisis for us.
A smaller population has huge and immediate benefits for things like sustainability, environmental protection and individual quality of life, byt it doesnt make the banks and oil companies richer so its the end of the world according to our political elite.

Technology allowed for more. This isn’t a population Malthusian thing. It was because of urbanization which made people stop having kids. It’s like the mouse utopia experiments. America (And it’s new other best friend mexico) and France for whatever reason avoided it.

It is not the end. But it in many ways secures American power for another generation. We’re on the cusp of many many new global political ideas rising out of this as Socialism, Communism, Facism, Capiralism, Neo Liberalism, and Social Democracies are all dependent on growing populations and the idea of more and more. Demographic inversion makes all of those ideologies impossible.

Here’s the thing though. America has a shit ton of space and resources so our population is good for now.
