abiguda, unironically.

alphabet is the most fucked up and arbitrary.

Just joking. Most alphabets, abjads, abugidas and syllabaries are fairly simple to use.
Logographic systems are a bit more complex, but on the other hand they allow words in different languages to look similar.
Featural systems range from meme tier (Tengwar, I'm looking at you) to "for all intents and purposes it works like an alphabet" (Hangul).

>alphabet is the most fucked up and arbitrary.
Alphabets aren't fucked up and arbitrary provided they stick to the "one phoneme, one spelling" rule.

shavian, hangul

It is ironic that Indians are only familiar with the mess that isEnglish orthography. They don't know how Latin alphabet works.

>Shavian
Nice idea, poor implementation - it simply doesn't work unless you use it with a specific language (English) in a specific dialect (Received Pronunciation).
The shorthand capabilities are nice though.

They should check how Latin itself used the alphabet. It was as simple as one can get.

it isn't just about how to use them.. but how they are organized and arranged.

I also speak Spanish and Portuguese along with English. Still prefer abugida writing systems to be honest. Honestly, if you're going to end up having one phoneme tied to one spelling, then you might as well use an abugida. At the same time, if you have something like English's messy phoneme-spelling relations, then it still makes more sense to just split it up into an abugida to make it simpler to spell imo. An alphabet only really works well if you want to type something out, since there's far less characters necessary - yet that's even just probably influenced by the fact that I'm used to typing in an alphabet.

>but how they are organized and arranged
By "organization" do you mean collation order? It's mostly historic but there's nothing intrinsic in alphabets preventing something like
>ptkq bdg mn fsxh vz rl jw iu eo a
Or a similar phoneme-based logic.
If something else: could you clarify?

English messy phoneme-spelling relations would end happening in an abugida too, as they're the result of sound changes. The only way to prevent that would be with a purely logographic system, but this is impracticable.

"I mean, look at this."
"เฎ เฎฎเฏ€เฎฉเฏ, เฎฒเฏ‚เฎ•เฏ เฎ…เฎŸเฏ เฎคเฎฟเฎธเฏ."
"Ai miin, luuk ah-t dh-is."
My native script preserves English phonemes decently well, and it was never made to accommodate that language. If anything, English as a language would greatly benefit from an abugida - it's practically straining at the limits of the alphabet. However, again alphabets are much easier to work with for printing and typing so it benefits from that too.

>My native script preserves English phonemes decently well
You can do the exact same with an alphabet, as you showed yourself with the transcription. English doesn't do this because of the Great Vowel Shift, the spelling rules were made for an older version of the language.
And, again - this shit would happen even if English used an abugida, but instead of "I" for "ai" you'd have "เฎˆ" for "เฎ".

Tagalog-Cebuano cuck. Kulitan is the superior indigenous script.

Attached: Kulitan.jpg (960x540, 26.31K)

I have seen TWO(2) different youtube videos on why korean is the superior writing.

Sorry for the double reply.
>it's practically straining at the limits of the alphabet.
Digraphs, diacritics, new letters, so goes on. For example the original Latin alphabet didn't have GJKUWYZ, accents were just the acute, and that "plop H for instant new consonant" trend happened by a coincidence.
Also give Cyrillic a look - the same "ground plan" as Latin, but ~35 letters.

latin

by organization, I meant.. why is 'cee' an alphabet and not 'ce'? the breaking up of phenome into alphabet is almost arbitrary.

also, why is 'c' next to 'd'?

>I meant.. why is 'cee' an alphabet and not 'ce'?
>ONLY ENGLISH USES THE LATIN ALPHABET!
See BTW Latin names for the letters were fairly regular.

>also, why is 'c' next to 'd'?
Collation order already explained as a historical artefact.

Fair, fair. I guess it's just an interesting quirk of that island's language that makes it tough to fit into anything beyond an alphabet. But what about Spanish and Portuguese or other Romance langs with very tightly controlled spellings for a phoneme?
I know that at this point, scripts are probably not going to really completely change due to the internationalization caused by the internet - but I feel like it was futile for Europe to just keep on adding new features onto the Latin alphabet when it was starting instead of making a new script entirely like what the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, Africa, or East Asia did. Cyrillic and greek were the only project that successfully managed to break off from the Latin mainstay of Europe.

How the fuck did this and Tamil have the same origin???? Javanese script developed from the Tamil Pallava Grantha script, right? Though I guess it also developed into Telugu and Kannada which look more similar.
