Nothing. Other than their porn and a few animes, it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.
The same things that get people to take an interest in any country honestly. The history, culture, people, climate, geography, etc. Plus, Tokyo is the single most impressive city in the world if you ask me. Anime is cool and all I guess but it’s really just a small part of Japan.
That they're ethnically homogeneous
Sushi, ramen, jap curry, okonomiyaki
calligraphy
Their buildings look aesthetic
The girls
Poor people. I kinda pity them.
It looks amazing for an outsider but working 6 days a week 10h a day with 3 days of holiday a year from the age of 12 until you die is kinda depressing.
The economy and the non degenerate influence its had here (Hawaii). Though their politicians tend to make really weird and stupid decisions and the western worlds fetishization of japan also turns me away from it.
>I like their everything.
I also like how long it took them to build their stealth jet.
Jomon
They're one of few countries to protect their culture from most outside influence.
What could be more Japanese than Colonel Santakurosu pawning tempura chicken and furaidopoteto?
I like Japanese food, mythology, and aesthetics.
>protect their culture from most outside influence
Most of their culture is adopted from China, Europe, and America.
The Ferrari Club of Japan
Bosozoku gang of 80s and 90s bring them back
>Most of their culture is adopted from China, Europe, and America.
Japan strives for perfection. They're better craftsmen than almost anyone on Earth.

Literature, their ambient and jazz fusion music.
Stuff like the picture you posted.
>Meiji era
>I had to look up saraiman.
