What is it like to live in west Virginia?

Hell, which is ironic because it should theoretically be the best state in the union

Shit, the most 3rd world place in America

Mountain mama

It’s either extremely comfy or awful with no real in-between. The place is pretty beautiful though.

I think only Mississippi is only worse than West Virginia when it comes to quality of life.

Stayed there for a while this summer.
It is absolutely gorgeous, and the people there are the most friendly, down-to-earth people you'll find.
But opioids have hit that part of the country, and there is a massive age imbalance as younger people leave the area for work. All the old military bases are closed up and the farms are consolidated into fewer and fewer hands. The infrastructure isn't great, there are whole counties without cell service; then again that might be a plus.

It's the poorest state and like the 3rd fattest. Most of the population is fucked up on opioids or knows someone who is. There's also a town in WV with a population of 5.

Lots of small towns with few jobs and a lot of drug problems. Very beautiful rugged landscapes and the families who manage to have decent jobs and education are a lot of fun to be around.

Shoupdn't they join Virginia, because Virginia lost the Civil war and stayed in the Union?

One more question, some states don't have income tax, does that mean if you all of a sudden make a million, you get to keep all of it?

No, there is still federal income tax. It just means there isn't an additional state one.

It might be different if you make your million via inheritance or the lottery or something but for normal income, you’d just pay federal income tax and not state income tax.

Sheeeeit dawg. Looks like Wyoming is the place to be

>no income tax
>low property tax (assuming u own one)

Good states if you like guns too. Unfortunately, there’s not much of anything in either.

What about the people? Are there jobs and nice girls?

Is that all you have to pay though, in terms of taxes? Doesn't that mean that a rich person can literally just live off of interest?

ALMOST HEAVEN
WESD BIRGINIA

Good people for the most part, yeah. I mean, you get some real trash and poverty (more so in WV I’d think) but you’ll get that anywhere. Jobs and girls, I don’t really know. I wouldn’t think these would be strong areas outside of 1 or 2 key industries (natural resources probably) and women being more down to earth.

Yes, it does mean that but again, the actual tax code will vary by state and what is considered “income” kind of varies too.

Fuck. It must feel so good to be one of those people who got rich by bitcoin

Not really to either. There's a natural resource industry like much of that part of the continent but it's not even that big.

Yeah, tons of asset-heavy but low cash flow millionaires/billionaires live there

very comfy cheep land unless your poor than its hell on earth.
>5 acres is like 5-10,000 usd there its crazy.

Is it really? I've been looking for some cheap useless land out in the country and I figured Wyoming would be my go to but the only cheap stuff I can find is in New Mexico and Arizona.

Virginia>>>>>>>>West Virginia by a landslide

North Arizona is pretty comfy

yes

I knew a guy who owned a successful business. Got it to a point where he was totally hands off, didn’t really do anything other than show up every now and then, payed himself a $75k salary. Long story short it grows to $25M per year in net income, he sells it, immediately cashed out 100% ownership for a $100M paycheck. Literally made $100M overnight.

Wyoming land is supposed to pretty expensive anywhere you’d want to buy.

North az and nm are beautiful. Makes me wonder why retirees make for the devil's asshole south az

>it should theoretically be the best state in the union
It would be if it actually had jobs.

Are you an actual asian korean? If so, expect "asian eyes" everywhere you go, be asked/mocked for bat soups, and these days, probably get harassed for COVID or blamed for anything china. So yeah, just go ahead and move there.

Looks like WV or Wyoming would be perfect if you were an IT guy working remotely. Sadly I'm studying Humanities, I can't code for shit :(

If you ever want to know about an area, watch their local news
