The thing about 20th century comunism that 21th century comunism seems to be heading into is that almost all regimes turned into "Eziungsdikaturs" (or in english, Education Dictatorship). And the nature of those regimes make them similar to capitalist countries, but with fewer oportunities to rise up socially and without stuff like "freedom of speech" (even if capitalism limits it, it still exists) or freedom of press.
The thing is that 21st century leftist already shoot themselves in the foot because you can see that a regime in their hands would fall to the same fat as the ones in the 20th century, stagnation and dissolution back into capitalism. No wonder ppl are turning to the right even if they aren't really even decent politicians now.
