I actually hate shows from Holland, so idk
I only watch American shows
Only programme to make my cry with laughter
nah
at the moment, I'm watching Code Lyoko in French to practice my reading/listening comprehension
pretty annoying that the subtitles don't always match with what they're saying
I remember not liking IASIP initially but it slowly went from my favorite sitcom to my favorite show period. The key is rewatchability.
My favorite british show. I'll also concede that your The Office is better than our drug out meme shit.
What do Germans think of pic related?
Good old Gingi
>I only watch American shows
Is this really that common in europe?
I started watching this a while back, but stopped after some guys got an airplaine to take some pics of a secret soviet air base. Lost interested after that.
Twin peaks
figures.
Have you watched European dramas or sitcoms? They're basically just lower budget versions of our own. Why make your own high quality stuff if you can just watch America's? Although I will say they've been stepping their game up lately, Dark was pretty good for a German show.
Canada even had to pass a law requiring more Canadian cartoons to air because ours were dominating their stations. That's why Canada has some good cartoons, they were subsidized by the government to compete.
Did you survive the lynching that was The Return?
I haven't really. I mean if the story is shit, no matter how much money you throw at it, no one will watch them. Same with lower budge, if the story/acting is good, you can compensate issues would be my guess? But im not familiar with european television productions though.
The writing and story is usually fine, but the actual productions are noticeably cheaper and the stories have to work around that. Your eyes might not notice, but your brain does.
You should turn your VPN onto Sweden or Germany and just check our shows on Netflix, that's what I usually do to find something.
>The writing and story is usually fine
yea fine won't get you far when competing with our entertainment industry, they need to be great but talent cost money I guess or strike lucky when all the planets align to get a great writer, actors and director.
Or just do what Uwe Boll does and take German government grants to make absolute schlock but still turn a profit because of the grant.
Mad Men and this
Writing and story of most European shit is pretty fucking poor because they don't try to make a competitive product with lesser resources, they just try to reach a special audience of drooling retards that don't like it when the characters speak English or the location if New York instead of some village in the Netherlands.
I watched a couple of episodes, didn't find it that good but definitely decent show
quite a few anons on Zig Forums seem to like it tho
exact same with me kek
apparently in the newer seasons the Nazis get involved too tho so that might be interesting, might get back to it
HBO's Chernobyl
>exact same with me kek
God dam did it seem like they take their sweet time to establish a setting. I thought three episodes could had merged into one and when people really start to give a fuck about the charters, they can go back and give some of their backstory.
baseret og rødpillet
Fantastic show.
Other than The Sopranos, this is the best show, bar none.
Impossible to compete against fucking Hollywood and their insane marketing budgets.
Pic related and Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men are the top-tier US shows. The Wire is a mix of great acting and bad acting, making it just okay. Breaking Bad is overrated and only worth watching maybe once
The USA also produces a lot of much lower budget movies that implement clever writing etc.
