Learning Jamaican Patois right now because it's the closest language to English that could reasonably be considered a separate language and not just a unique dialect

Post your resources, I always wanted to learn it.

Language Challenge: Nite Life Edition
Let's get some fine clothes. We need a tape recorder for special music. It's going to be hard to find it, especially in this city. This club is always full, let's find another place. We need a convertible car. Let's dance. Where did you put the alcohol? What do you mean with "I don't drink alcohol"? Are you going to bring your girl? Drink at least a can of beer. Yo, taxi driver, we are hungry, find some drive thru so we can eat. Puke outside of the car dummy. I know the language of love, do you? Go ask that girl out, she seems cute. What is your phone number? It is five-one-oh five-five-five nine-six-nine-six, got that? Ask the DJ to change that music, it's very boring.
These are good for formal learning, but if you speak standard English patois is close enough to pick up through watching Jamaican youtubers and following Jamaican social media accounts. They dance between full patois and Jamaican English a lot, which can make learning patois both easier and harder, because you don't know whether it's a patois word or an English word. For example, in jamaican English the word for spider is "Spaidah" but in full patois it's "anansa"

I want to learn Faroese, I found plenty of resources in English, but there’s better resources in Danish, should I learn danish and then learn Faroese?
Nicholas Collins
Danish is spoken by more people if memory serves, but if you're adamant about Faroese, Icelandic is pretty similar. There's a few differences between the two, but imo you could find more resources/places to use Icelandic.

Most conlangers aren't Klingonists.

Zamenhof had multiple kids. One of his grandkids passed away pretty recently I think.

Obv, that's just an example -- if you want to get more specific, it would probably be something like this Dothraki -- dude GoT is so cool Klingon -- dude Star Trek is so cool Elvish langs -- dude LOTR is so cool (and maybe JRRT too) Star Wars langs -- dude I'm a super turbo nerd Ido/Volapük -- we're still relevant!! Esperanto -- we can still definitely be a global language Globasa -- let's share it over the internet, that'll def catch on Linguists who make their own conlangs -- varies from based to absolute cringe
TL:DR, conlangers are either turbo nerds, hobbyists, or professional linguists
Jordan Johnson
At least quenya and sindarin sound and look pretty nice
John Phillips
A lot of the language seemed really natural too, words like "mordor" and "morghul" seem like pretty basic things, but they actually have meaning -- "dark land" and "dark magic" respectively
Jason Rodriguez
Yeh I'm familiar with some of the words through reading hobbit, lotr, unfinished tales and silmarillion and having some autism to find amusement in glancing through the dictionary therein
Brayden Bell
Because Tolkien was a linguist and knew what he was doing.

I had a dream where I was speaking Russian in my head with ease, and I turned my alarm off and stayed asleep because I wanted to keep speaking it. But I can't remember anything I said and can't remember if I actually refused to wake up because of it. It might have been a dream within a dream where I was speaking gibberish and thinking it was hot shit.
