Its not true though. We just had the belief until someone actually asked the manufacturer who said no they definitely do not last a long time. Its 25 days which for a cake like baked good is impressive but its not lasting through an apocalypse.

Oddly enough some artificial flavorings are exactly the same as the flavoring compound that naturally occurs they just make it in lab because it's cheaper. Vanilla is probably the most common example. In a way if its the same it's probably better for the environment to synthesize it.

They are honestly kinda bad. I like other hsotess/lil debbie treats but Twinkies are kinda like bad cake and bad frosting. Like I think angel cake (?) or shortcake (?) btu bad and then vanilla (?) frosting inside but bad. Just a low quality cake.

I love ho hos and oatmeal creme pies tho

They're ok. I loved them as a kid but now they're just okay. All processed sugar cakes are just ok. Not worth the calories fat etc.
