The point of having a nuke is being a big hammer to threaten other countries that want to attack you, which can easily be prevented by not being an asshole to everyone like the US is. In fact, latin american countries don't even need armies.

Your country has aggressively prevented countries around the world from acquiring nuclear weapons, enacting strict embargos on nations that have nuclear programs such as Iran, North Korea etc. I mean, you literally almost plunged the world into a nuclear war in 1962 by intervening when the Soviet Union wanted to place nuclear missiles on Cuba, see the Cuba crisis.

The United States tried to sabotage our space program, was staunchly against Brazilian production of sounding/satellite rockets and tried to get NATO to stop our launch center. We have all the technology and infrastructure to develop nuclear weapons but NATO would start bombing our cities if we abandoned the NPT.
