I think west africans are stronger and bulkier than most people anyway. The ones in american plantations that were not strong enough didn't live so they got stronger as slavery continued. there are a difference between west african genes and black american genes because of their adaptation. The black americans don't have the genes that prevents them from malaria because it's not prevelant in the US
