here it's compulsory for everyone older than 18 and youger than 65, 16 to 18 and over 65yo people can vote voluntarily. every 4 years we have to go to a school on a sunday, and vote.
everyone have a designated classroom where you have to enter alone, and pick one ballot. ballots are a a4 size sheet with all the candidates from a certain party, every party has it own sheet.(pic related)
you pick your ballot, put it into a mail, close it and then you put it into a box, where everyone else put their votes. you sing in a book that you voted and you are free to go, if you don't vote you are fined.
although we are a third world country with a very basic voting system, it's almost imposible to make a fraud and we have the election results in about 8 hours.
>compulsory voting Genuinely retarded. Yeah, let’s all just vote on a whim for a random candidate because you’ve been mildly inconvenienced into doing so. ‘Democracy’ is a meme.
Lucas Campbell
President is elected by the parliament. 2/3 majority is needed or 4/5. After the 5th attempt it's 50%+1. Or something like this
Gabriel Rodriguez
sure, it'a a stupid idea.
it force the lazy people to vote, so they vote the candidate for the lazy people, so the ones who promises more gibs.
Cooper Rodriguez
how important is the president in your country? he is the one who rules the country, or that's the job of the first minister?
Adrian Peterson
its fucking retarded. i never made a valid vote in my life but i still have to vote
Jayden Roberts
You forgort about the fiscals there is 1 for each party on each table, checking the id ans signature of the voter and the same fiscals audit and count the vote of each table. Its almos impossible to cheat.
Lets never chage to electronic voting.
Alexander Richardson
President just signs papers. Prime minister is the head of the executive branch.
Samuel Sanders
yes, i don't know why macri boys want to change, this is not that bad.
Bentley Perry
and how do you pick the prime minister then?
Jayden Rodriguez
Unless the province is very feudal then you have people changing the urns lmao, that hilarious just to think
Julian Scott
2 rounds election
1st round: you pick the one you want to vote for. Votes are counted, and the 2 guys with the most vote goes to the 2nd round 2 weeks later for a showdown, all the other candidates are eliminated and tell their voters to vote for the one of the 2 remaining guy they prefer (or to vote against the one they hate the most). If somone manage to get more than 50% of the votes, he autowins, no need for a 2nd round
2nd round: only 2 candidates, the one with the most votes win.
A roughly similar system applies for parliament elections. It's a system made to give high powers and stability to a president and his government and produce clear results, but it also have some big flaws either way.
Jacob King
We don't elect our president, we only elect the Parliament. Voting is secret and is to be done in person.
Lucas Sullivan
It's elected by the parliament. 50%+1 votes. If the parliament can't elect one I think the President calls for a new election. Not sure of this, cuz never happened. If a coalition breaks up the prime minister remains intact.
Caleb Ortiz
very similar here, but at the end of the 1st round if the leading candidate didn't get over 50% of the votes, o he/she isn't leading for over 10% of the votes we have the 2nd round. the 2nd round is just like your country, between two candidates and whoever gets more votes wins
>A roughly similar system applies for parliament elections. It's a system made to give high powers and stability to a president and his government and produce clear results, but it also have some big flaws either way.
same here, i guess our founding fathers and all the politician who came then have always been inspired by France.
James Gonzalez
>Automatic universal voter registration. >Reminders with the exact polling place location sent out weeks in advance of any election. >Letters already include the application for the mail-in ballot which is always optional.
Nicholas Thompson
>genuinely retarded Of course, we still vote peronists after all.
Jace Martinez
here our president is very important and very powerful, if he/she were elected by other politicians intead, the people would chimp out against him/her, every now and then, and we would have a new president every few months.
Ryan Fisher
btw
Justin Torres
also compulsory?
Easton Hughes
Anyone 18 and older can vote, and we vote for our local member of parliament. There is automatic voter registration, but you can register to vote if you're not for some reason. We have early voting and mail-in ballots, and on election day you have a designated polling station to vote, which is often a school.
After you show your ID (or combination of IDs to prove both your identity and address), which they verify in their list of local voters, you get a paper ballot go to a temporary voting booth to mark your choice, then fold the ballot and drop it off.
Like other similar parliamentary systems, the party with the most seats forms government and the party leader becomes Prime Minister.
You actually wrote that thinking someone gives a FUCK about your country haah..
James Smith
better than habing the worst of the worst voting, here even the jailed people vote.
Jack Price
Very similar to what you described, althought Perú has been implementing electronic vote it is restricted to few places. >although we are a third world country with a very basic voting system, it's almost imposible to make a fraud and we have the election results in about 8 hours. Here parties have overseers to prevent nothing unusual happens. But most of the time it is them starting shit up.
Austin Miller
You actually wrote that thinking someone gives a FUCK about your opinion haah..
Camden James
We don't have a President. We have a constitutional King. This King is elected by 9 Sultans of our component states among themselves every 5 years so we are one of the few elective monarchies left. In practice, the King is selected by seniority (historical, not by age, i.e. which kingdom came into being first) but the candidate can decline or step down and the next in turn can become King.
Robert Jenkins
We have a PM who runs the country and for that we follow the Westminster system.
Julian Miller
based, and who elected those 9 sultans or where do they come from?
Jason Evans
the fiscals are still there with electronic voting the only difference with that system is that there was a single ballot (which reduced costs), it was apparently faster to vote, and the results came faster too
frankly, I think the system where all candidates are all on a list and you make a little mark next to it is better than either system, but whatever
Blake Flores
robo de boletas very common
Joseph Ramirez
never voted my whole life.
Christian Jones
We can't vote for our President (it's picked from the Parliament and he doesn't need to be elected) We can't vote for our Prime Minister (it's picked by the Parliament, he doesn't need to be elected and he doesn't even need to be Italian; the President is supposed to monitor/approve the nominee)
