I both love and hate them.

I love their kindness (unironically, the nicest people I've ever been amongst abroad and I've been to 15+ countries now), their ambition (always dreaming/coming up with new ideas), I like their grit, the way they embrace new things, their positive outlooks on life and situations ('it'll work out in the end, dig in, go for it etc.').

However I hate how anti-intellectual they've become to the point of pure ignorance. I feel like Americans read less, care less for history, care less for what they put in their bodies, they're more than anybody else so absorbed into social media and it's warped their entire world view beyond measure. Their political discourse is painfully dim.

The above applies to run of the mill Americans, I'm not talking about the extremes (left/right nutjobs, ghetto blacks, toothless hicks etc. - although I feel like they all represent a growing majority).
