Why do we have this hard time learning english? There are a lot of countries whose education systems are inferior to ours, but their english skills are almost always above us, i think. Considering this, there seems to be no relationship between english skill and the education system. One thing we don't have but other countries do is that in other countries there are a lot of people who can speak and use english, and so children can learn english from them naturally. I think in learning languages the first-hand experience is the key to improve one's language skill. But there are few people in japan who can speak english fluently (even japanese english teachers can't be considered that they can speak english fluently). Therefore, i can say that japanese cannot improve their english skills if we stay in japan, and so we have to go abroad, but it's difficult for many people. Then, what can we do to improve our english skill? I started thinking it's almost impossible to master english as a japanese.

As long as Japanese people stay in Japan, it may be impossible for them to master English.

This is true and i have the same idea, but we have to find some solutions. The problem now i have is i feel as if english is kind of "code," not a language. Every time i speak or write english i always care about its grammar and pronunciation, and cannot catch its feelings. I don't know whether it is just caused by the lack of effort, or basically it is almost impossible to feel the second language.

We can live better lives than other countries without having to learn English. Most Japanese haven't motivated to learn English.
