Am I wrong? Argentina was already in the shitter earlier while for example Colombia, Peru, Mexico were more or less growing. But this year their GDP fell similarly, above 10% a year. That means Argentina wasn't as affected by corona as other countries, because then they'd fall even more (maybe even 20%)

That's definitely true, however, Argentina had their shit pushed in even deeper, and since the country cannot recover due to shutdowns, the debt worsens that way.
That's what I think though. Of course they were in the shitter before COVID, but this sort of issue doesn't allow us to recover.

Yes Peru is projected to grow while Argentina was projected to stay in the crisis. Peru doesn't have structural problems like Argentina the only problem is accommodating the hundreds of thousands if not (haven't checked) of Venezuelans crossing the borders and creating problems
