There is class but there is sufficient fluidity in moving between the classes. You only need to wear a white collared shirt and stroll through the city to be considered affluent.

No, not to the same extent. This also spreads to diaspora who were born and raised in Australia. I did some work with local Maoris a long time ago that kissassed to a disgusting extent. This wasn't evident in foreign Maoris who still had some self-respect and treated their boss as just a normal individual.

There's also the rules. Aussies love their little fucking rules. Even if they're pointless and don't add to anything apart from being a drain on time and energy. They get incredibly assblasted if you don't follow everything down to the letter.

Yeah. Most people in blue collar work get their job from their mates/parents/parents friends etc. I had a friend who got his wife into his workplace once some dude got fired.
The only exception where this varies is top notch companies that treat recommendations as just recommendations.

Won't disagree with you there, but I'm not sure that's classism. Nepotism is bad here, that's something I've noticed as a foreigner. People are mostly appointed to higher positions based on who they know and recruitment is often the same. Where I work nearly everyone got their foot in the door through a contact there. But as for classism, it is also possible for someone from a poor background to get a trade and earn as much or more than a professional white collar worker.

I think australia has a pretty good movement system between classes, much better than the U.K in that regard since most people don't do trade/labor because "muh old man did it", but the attitude towards a superior is what I think is a pretty rampant legacy of its past as a once prison labor.

I would disagree that it's classist. I would say the culture is aggressively egalitarian in the face of all opposing evidence. The vibe I got while working in the abbatoir is "you better not try too hard". School is the same, "you better not be good at anything" because if you're good at something that implies a sense of superiority

I have a very contradictory assessment of Japan. I am a huge fan. In Japan, I see the future of humanity. Perhaps Korea and China should be included in that vision of the future. South Koreans and Chinese—who might superficially dislike Japan—have eagerly copied Japanese ways. Japanese products are sold in abundance in East and Southeast Asia. All the way to Malaysia and Singapore, people look for models to Japan and now increasingly to South Korea, which copied its economic miracle from Japan.
