I want to live in Asia so bad. Why are software engineer salaries so low in Asia?
I want to live in Asia so bad. Why are software engineer salaries so low in Asia?
Dunno
America is high
wich language are you using for sofware engineering?
we are bugmen that's why the salaries are low
salaries are low in asia because you're competing with people who will work 16 hours for less because they have a huge work culture which revolves around looking as busy as possible.
Nobody genuinely wants to move to Asia once they experience it because it's physically exhausting and only a sociopath would want to work harder for less.
Holy fuck the amount of make up and editing required to make that thing look even slightly presentable.
>because they have a huge work culture which revolves around looking as busy as possible.
No, it's because most Asian countries are total leftist shitholes and corporations outsource their jobs there to take advantage of the extremely high supply of cheap labor. Basic economics, buy yourself a brain.
all incel threads belong on
did you know there is this thing called remote work?
>software dev
>yellowfever fag
Could you be more of an incel
That is so dumb, he'd change his entire lifestyle to be nocturnal and that isn't even the problem because he'd be getting paid less and still living in America
Why would you leave? I have less than a year of experience and I make 105,000 plus all the rest of the cool shit in Arizona
we are talking about japan/korea when we say asia. Nobody wants to work like a japanese/korean salaryman. it's dystopian.
Wtf is wrong with you
Lmao, he’s literally the textbook yellow fever incel
Westerners don't know problems of overpopulation.
Company can get workers easily in the country of overpopulation.
Therefore company can push down salary.
But Japan is underpopulated and you’re still underpaid slaves
To keep you gaijin away as it should be, you degenerate
Japan is overpopulated and the young suffer from an even worse boomer plague - boomers who refuse to retire. This limits their mobility
When you come to think of it, UK is actually better than most first world countries when it comes to professional jobs
Softwares devs in the US make more than double what software devs in any other 1st world country make. Every big software company is American.
>software engineer
>yellow fever incel
Why does this always add up?
Westerners are a lost cause
Yeah. I studied abroad before and Japanese were telling me how they had friends in the UK who were earning way more than they ever would in Japan, they also had easy lives so we were very envious of it. Must have all lived in posh areas of the south east as they didn't say anything about nu britons.
Just become a teacher and go work at an international school. The standards are so low and there's so much staff turnover that it's pretty easy to find a position. They usually pay for (really nice) accommodation and the salary is also good. I know a bunch of international school teachers who have bought property in the UK and are renting it out while they get to live and travel all over the world. The salaries are so good and living costs so cheap that they're basically netting 30k in savings a year while also paying off a mortgage back home.
To answer your question: it's because maths and coding is universal and it's also something that Asians are pretty good at. You're way more competitive in China if you have marketing skills and shit like that. Even an English degree goes further than most STEM degrees do over there. Obviously the best is management though. If you work for a big company it's pretty common to be making 500k+, not even including housing and schooling for kids which are all paid for.

Supply and demand. There are simply too many people in Asia
Because all the big tech companies are located in America...
I wish we had global platform companies like America has
Biggest Korean platform/tech companies: Naver/Kakao/Coupang. Have you heard any of them? No. This is reason. Simple
There is no software big tech in Asia except China
It's more that the US has exceptionally high salaries for top level software engineers than the rest of the world having low salaries for the position.
No, today Japanese youngers can get good salary because population is decreasing.
That is one of reasons that Japanese politics is stable in the past 10 years.
I wish I was an English teacher Chad in Asia
