Ausbros... why are we such mountainlets...

we're in the middle of a tectonic plate, there's nothing causing the earth to lift up really high. we have some dormant volcanos though

>we have some dormant volcanos though
I'm scared

>australians can't spell the name of their highest mountain

Sugarloaf? That's not hard to spell.

I'm aware of that, I was just shitposting. That said I keep forgetting we actually have volcanoes.

Dont we have heaps of mountain ranges, just none of them are high?

ye na mate, I'd rather be in Coober Pedy

The entire east coast is very mountainous, a lot of them range from around 1000m to 2000m in elevation

I know there are quite a few mountain ranges in SA. The entire east cost is has one massive mountain range going down in a line irc

Yeah SA has flinders range and the mount lofty ranges although those don't get much higher than a thousand meters in elevation. Funnily enough the tallest mountain in SA is closer to the NT than it is Adelaide (Mount Woodroffe), although that's more due to its general elevation than actual prominence.
Even WA has the pilbara range whose highest point is at 1249m just a hundred meters shy of the "peaks" in the UK. How embarassing!!!!

Victoria literally sits above the worlds largest hotspot that could burst at any time and wreck unimaginable havoc. Even Melbourne is not safe from total alliteration.

Australian wildlife is the biggest cope ever. No continent has such sissy wildlife unsuited for competition. Every manner of meak domesticated animal manages to absolutely dominate the native wild life and become invasive. Be it rabbits, foxes, dogs, cats, pigs, camels, toads or horses.
They only cope via tiny poisonous vermin as their source of pride.

The Tasmanian alps were created by the same hot spot. That's why pretty much all the rocks in Tasmania are volcanic dolerite.

This is actually true to a degree. Even our snakes are actually docile and non-confrontational and also somewhat cute.
It's not true for our birds though. Our birds really are badass mother fuckers.

Pic related have super sharp spurs on there wings. When I was a kid one swooped down on a kid I knew and attacked his head. seconds I saw blood flowing down his face.

Of course I can't forget to mention the blood magpie. Those fuckers will peck your eye out.
