They were seen again on the Dolomites a few days ago after more than 500 years. Pretty based.
whats the difference between red and blue beavers? How did blue beavers get from Canada all the way into Finland?
Are there two different species and if so why does Finland seem to have ours?
>tfw living in the red zone
BeaverBros where we at?
If I had to guess, Finnish beavers hid away on vikang boats, then totally dominated the Americas since they had no competitor
based I never knew how much animals italy had from dolphins to beavers
North american beavers are bigger and better at bipedal locomotion while eurasian beavers are smaller with a bigger anal gland
I hope the european elephants eventually come back too

standard leaf behaviour
Yeah they're known to be pretty fearless, not worth fucking with
Sadly they just left thanks to brexit
I read that the reason finalnd has canadian beavers is because in 1937 they introduced the canadian beavers to help breed with the almost extinct eurasian beaver
You guys probably killed them all.
I go beaver trapping , the glands are interesting to learn about, fun fact they are used in vanilla flavoring
now they're introducing african mandingo to help breed with the almost extinct finnish people.
funny how history repeats itself
I once saw 5 beavers at the same time. AMA
how big were their anal glands
kek
But supposidly we have some in the north, near the coast. Pretty suprising but yeah. Never seen any though.
They just thought it was the same species back then but it turns out they can't even interbreed because of a different chromosome count. It is technically an "invasive" species but they don't care much about removing it because its impact on the ecosystem is almost the same.
We are not considered the most biodiverse country in Europe for nothing.
Couldn't tell i was 15m away. but they were euro beavers so you know their anal glands were big and juicy
did you ever go beaver hunting?
>eurasian beavers are smaller with a bigger anal gland
Sounds about right
>African mandingo
Literally me
No, but my friend did he smoked the meat and gave me some. It was tastier than you imagine
Yep that is good smoked beaver meat but did he keep the glands and the fur?
at one point poland was one of the last places in europ where you could find beavers and zubrs because westoids genocided them all, stfu fat
I honestly didn't know we had those
I wish we Europeans didn't killed all our wildlife
I checked the numbers of eurasian beavers and there are quite a few nowadays there are around one million of them in the 1800s there were only 1200
