It is--or was, up until the government decided to close everything fun down due to COVID.
I've also lived in Colombia, India, and Mexico. Nothing wrong with Istanbul; there are no particular advantages or disadvantages to being American here, aside from availing a very favorable exchange rate.
English language proficiency is relatively rare in Turkey, though, so being able to have at least a basic grasp of the language is necessary.

I'm a graduate student and receive a maintenance stipend. I also make several thousand dollars per month working remotely. I'm not wealthy--by any means--but I earn a sufficient amount to sustain myself indefinitely, especially in countries with relatively low costs of living.
Thinking someone's a trust fund baby just because they've visited a handful of countries is idiotic (especially when that user appears to have traveled around only a handful of regions, suggesting they took a few college-break trips or something).
