Brazil cultivated very poor, uneducated populations that were marginalized. While a more or less normal society was created over them, built mainly by european settlers. As the effects of industrialization reach these marginalized folk, their population and influence on the country skyrocketed.That didn´t had to be bad, but completely ''feral'' people hardly conduct a country well. That's what I think happened, at least.
