remember, you use 'an' when the next word begins with a vowel SOUND, not just because it begins with a vowel. this is a common mistake i see. european begins with a 'y' sound, not a vowel sound, and so its a european, not an european. same with utility.

Today I woke up at 3:20 P.M. I helped out my mother make supper. She cooked white rice and I made chicken breasts seasoned with salt, black pepper, garlic and basil leaves. I cooked them in a skillet with a bit of canola oil for five minutes each side. We opened a package of pre-cut salad and ate it with our meal.
After all of that, I went to my room and played video games for a while. Currently I turned on my computer to check out this website and its imageboards. A few minutes ago I went to my kitchen to grab a bag of trail mix, which I am going to eat while browsing this thread.
