Because nobody rides the train

nyc proves you wrong

I heard NYC Northwest area is only region that's profitable.

If you go by train from eastcoast to westcoast this will take like 3 days or so ... Americans just fly with airplanes, flying is pretty cheap and saves a lot of time ..

if you build it they will come
it doesnt exist because of nimbys and greedy fucks, and because theres no company competent enough to build one

Not that many people use the current one.

the nyc subway? or Amtrak?

Not even, the American corridor along with every other line has been nothing but a cash dump.

it's coming

They don't fit in train seats and areafraid of human contact.

USA is biblically huge and is neither densely or evenly populated. Ergo the cost of building a high speed rail network would not be offset by the profits because why would you spend shit loads on money and time traveling from coast to coast when you can just fly in a couple of hours.
