i use scotia itrade and i dont have a minimum.
but it's a shitty 10 maple dollars per trade. At least scotiabank is reliable, didn't go down when the other banks routinely did with the crazy volumes during weed bandwagon times (then again, itrade was $25 per commission during that time).

Consider pic related. Market prices fluctuate wildly. A 15 minutes delay could make a difference especially if you want to dump on open or see where the price is heading. On Questrade you can mash (for free) on the update quote button to get a live quote and bid/ask data. Maybe it doesn't matter to you.
